It all began in 2017 when Zac slid into Yessica’s DM’s on Instagram in search of some travel recommendations and advice prior to his long stay in Colombia to learn Spanish. In November, 2017, Zac decided to travel to Medellin Colombia to meet Yessica in person. They had their first date in a restaurant called Parmesano, at this point Zac’s Spanish wasn’t very good and Yessica didn’t speak any English, so their communication was limited to mostly body language and passing a phone with Google translator across the table. Google translate was their accomplice in this beautiful love story and truly provided a tool that gave the couple a solid foundation. They continued in communication after Zac returned to the US as they made their relationship official after the wonderful week they spent together in Medellin. Zac and Yessica then took their first trip together to San Andres Island where they could meet and connect a little more, its turns out the island had no cell reception that could support google translate, so it was a truly interesting trip, but the couple knew based on the endless smiles and positive energy of the other that this was a special bond forming. As things continued going well into the new year of 2018, Zac decided the time was right to stay a few months in Medellin to learn Spanish and meet Yessicas family and friends. Later in 2018, Yessica applied to study English in the US and meet Zacs family and friends. They had many trips back and forth between Colombia and the US during the first 3 years, until COVID struck and presented an indefinite period of geographic isolation. The pandemic was an unforeseen event that no one had expected, however this couples love only became stronger than as this was truly a force that galvanized their love for one another rather than tearing it apart. As border restrictions lifted, they immediately resumed their life of international love, with Zac traveling to visit Colombia as frequently as possible. In May of 2021, the couple met in Cancun, under the guise of a photoshoot, Zac walked Yessica along the beach slowly taking in the clear Caribbean waters. They walked and Zac pointed out a strange arrangement of rose petals in the shape of a heart containing the letters Z and Y, in front of a dining table set up on the beach. He asked Yessica what it was, and while Yessica approached Zac got onto one knee and asked Yessica for her hand in marriage. Which brings us to the wedding that the couple are so excited to share with the many people that they love and care for. Their commitment together comes with the expectation of spending the rest of their days loving one another as the soulmates they are, sharing and embracing each other’s cultures and passions, and to bring two families and many friends together as one loving community. On December 29th 2024, the couple would be honored and gracious to share with you, a ceremony with a reception to follow in Medellin Colombia. Hasta Medellin!


NUESTRA HISTORIA DE AMOR


Todo comenzó en 2017 cuando Zac se metió al DM de Yessica en Instagram en busca de algunas recomendaciones de viaje y consejos antes de su larga estancia en Colombia para aprender español. En noviembre de 2017, Zac decidió viajar a Medellín Colombia para conocer a Yessica en persona. Tuvieron su primera cita en un restaurante llamado Parmesano, en este punto el español de Zac no era muy bueno y Yessica no hablaba nada de inglés, por lo que su comunicación se limitó principalmente al lenguaje corporal y a pasar un teléfono con el traductor de Google por la mesa. El traductor de Google fue su cómplice en esta hermosa historia de amor y realmente proporcionó una herramienta que dio a la pareja una base sólida. Continuaron en comunicación después de que Zac regresara a los Estados Unidos, ya que hicieron oficial su relación después de la maravillosa semana que pasaron juntos en Medellín. Zac y Yessica hicieron su primer viaje juntos a la isla de San Andrés, donde pudieron conocerse y conectarse un poco más, resulta que la isla no tenía recepción celular que pudiera soportar la traducción de Google, por lo que fue un viaje realmente interesante, pero la pareja sabía, basándose en las interminables sonrisas y la energía positiva del otro, que se estaba formando un vínculo especial. Como las cosas continuaron yendo bien en el nuevo año de 2018, Zac decidió que era el momento adecuado para quedarse unos meses en Medellín para aprender español y conocer a la familia y amigos de Yessica. Más adelante en 2018, Yessica solicitó estudiar inglés en los Estados Unidos y conocer a la familia y los amigos de Zac. Tuvieron muchos viajes de ida y vuelta entre Colombia y los Estados Unidos durante los primeros 3 años, hasta que el COVID golpeó y presentó un período indefinido de aislamiento geográfico. La pandemia fue un acontecimiento imprevisto que nadie esperaba, pero el amor de esta pareja se hizo más fuerte, ya que fue una verdadera fuerza que galvanizó su amor mutuo en lugar de desgarrarlo. Cuando se levantaron las restricciones fronterizas, inmediatamente reanudaron su vida de amor internacional, con Zac viajando a visitar Colombia tan frecuentemente como le era posible. En mayo de 2021, la pareja se reunió en Cancún, bajo el pretexto de una sesión de fotos, Zac paseó a Yessica por la playa tomando lentamente las claras aguas del Caribe. Caminaron y Zac señaló un extraño arreglo de pétalos de rosa en forma de corazón que contenía las letras Z & Y, frente a una mesa de comedor instalada en la playa. Le preguntó a Yessica qué era, y mientras ésta se acercaba, Zac se arrodilló y le pidió a Yessica su mano. Lo que nos lleva a la boda que la pareja está tan emocionada de compartir con muchas personas que aman y cuidan. Su compromiso viene con la expectativa de pasar el resto de sus días amándose el uno al otro como almas gemelas que son, compartiendo y abrazando las culturas y pasiones del otro, y de unir a dos familias y muchos amigos como una comunidad amorosa. El 29 de diciembre de 2024, la pareja tendrá el honor y la gracia de compartir con ustedes, una ceremonia con una recepción en Medellín Colombia. ¡Hasta la boda!
