Our Story

Zach and Sarah met on the night of Sarah's graduation from the University of Texas. Sarah just graduated from her 5 year accounting program, meanwhile Zach, having graduated from Texas A&M University was moving to Austin to begin his career as a Petroleum Engineer.

Zach had school buddies in Austin who (thankfully for him) had met and befriended some of Sarah's friends. Over the next few weeks Zach took interest in Sarah especially after one specific night when a group was country dancing and Zach asked Sarah to dance a minimum of 10 times in a row. There was one slight issue, Sarah was about to move to Houston to start her accounting career. So naturally, Zach asked to take her fly fishing on a little creek in Austin, on this creek Sarah caught her first bass on the fly. After this Zach asked if Sarah would like to go on a date and her reply was "I think you are great..." so long story short, Zach didn't think she was interested in him. However, a few days later, Sarah and Zach found themselves in the same hot yoga class on a Sunday afternoon taught by one of Sarah's best friends (this would be Zach's first and last hot yoga experience). There they found out they were both going to the same church that evening and would sit together. After Church, they talked and Sarah told Zach she wanted to go on a date if that door was still open. So they did, and after a great evening, they decided to keep dating long distance and "see what happens". Two days later Sarah moved to Houston.

As time developed, we were able to have a great time growing closer, enjoying many outdoor adventures, and spending awesome time with each other's families. Zach noticed Sarah's beautiful love for the Lord, her stability / consistency, and the way she treats others with honest love. Sarah noticed Zach's pursuit after the Lord, joyful spirit, and love for all adventures. So on a Saturday morning at Sarah's families ranch, when Sarah thought her and Zach were going on a mule ride to fish a stock tank, Zach proposed to Sarah and after much surprise she said yes.

Our next adventure will take us to Jackson Hole to pursue a new career path in construction. We are both so thankful for that night of Sarah's graduation, and the past two years. It is awesome to see the Lord's sovereign hand in how we met, and we are excited for a lifetime with each other. We would like to thank all the people in our life (friends and family) who have invested in us and pushed us towards the Lord over the years. We know we are at our best for each other when we have the Lord as our #1 relationship in our lives and we have both been shaped by many people. We will have a lifetime of growth but are thankful for all of the relationships we have been blessed with that shaped us into who we are today. Ultimately our prayer is that our relationship be a light for others that points back to the Lord, and His glory.

With Love,
