On a cold fall evening during the pandemic, in November 2020, Zach was walking around downtown Madison when he came across an entire city block on fire. He saw a woman crying for help out of a second story window. He knew this woman was special so he decided he needed to save her.
He climbed a tree and leaped into the burning building. He searched through the smoke-filled burning building and finally found her tucked away in the corner of a bedroom.
He reached out his hand and said "Hi, I'm Zach."
She responded "Hi, I'm Carly."
He smiled and said "Want to get out of here?"
She responded "Yes - please save me!"
He swept her off her feet and carried her to safety. Once they were out of the building he put her down and said "I'm not a firefighter, I just play one on TV."
She responded "I want to marry you".
The rest is history.
