FAQ

Why Camp Eden Woods?

With BC being our home for some time now, we have developed a love for camping and the outdoors. We were hoping to find a more casual and relaxing place that we could spend quality time with friends and family. Camp Eden Woods seems to be a great place in Ontario, close to loved ones, that may bring the west coast feel we were looking for.

Can I see what the camp looks like ?

Here is a link to the camp's website which includes a great video highlighting the property and the cabins to give you all a better idea on what the weekend will be like!

...if you drive by, let us know how it looks. We've never been!

What should I bring?

Guest will need to bring their own bedding. This includes a sheet, blanket or sleeping bag, and pillow.

We want our guests to be as comfortable as possible at the cottage. Here are a few items we would recommend packing outside of your wedding attire and day clothes: camp chair, sunscreen, bug spray, swim suit + towel, medications, toiletries + bath towel, flash light/ headlamp, ear plugs, reusable water bottle (we will have water on site), and your comfortable dancing shoes!

Being avid campers, we will have items on hand should you forget - but if you have any concerns or questions, please reach out!

Where will I be sleeping?

Camp Eden Woods have a number of cabins on site. And don't worry - there is more than enough space for everyone! All the cabins have amenities such as electricity, hot water, showers and bathrooms, some even having a front porch that overlooks Elephant Lake. These cabins sleep between 6-16 people with bunk beds in a rustic atmosphere. We will assign family and friend bunkies closer to the date. Think of this like an adult sleepover!

Can I bring my RV?

There is plenty of room in the cabins but if you prefer, there is also the ability to pitch a tent or park your RV on site. The accommodation fee will cover your campsite, if you choose to rough it out for the weekend! Please notify the couple in the notes section upon RSVPing if you intend on parking your RV for the weekend.

How do I secure accommodations?

For the ease of our guests, we have reserved all camp cabins and campsites at a special rate of $100 per person for the weekend. Outside of the wedding reception, this rate also includes your dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and snacks on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Upon RSVPing, you will be sent instructions on how to secure your accommodations for the weekend. The deadline to RSVP and pay for accommodations is May 1st 2024.

Is there wifi at camp?

Yes! Wifi is available for guests within the main lodge.

Will there be an open bar?

That's always our first question, we're glad you asked! Alcoholic beverages will be provided for guests during celebrations on Saturday. If guests would like to partake in drinking outside of celebrations Saturday, feel free to bring your own booze (and cooler)! Non-alcoholic drink options will also be available throughout the weekend.

What if I have food restrictions?

All meals and snacks throughout the weekend will be served in the lodge buffet style. There will be a variety of options for guests however, if you have dietary restrictions we should know about, you will have the opportunity to share when you RSVP. We will work with our venue to ensure all our guests' accommodations are taken into account and everyone is well-fed!

What is the dress code?

We want to see everyone lookin' their best but staying comfortable and cool. For the welcome dinner on Friday, our theme is casual, cozy and comfortable. Pajamas, sweatpants and comfy clothes are encouraged - true camp style! For our wedding day, we ask that everyone follows a semi-form dress code. Weather permitting, our ceremony will be held outside on the beach, so please dress appropriately, including the appropriate footwear.

When should I come and go?

We ask that all our guests arrive anytime after 5:00 p.m on Friday. Dinner will be served around 7:30 p.m. to ensure everyone has time to arrive after work. The camp asks that all guests be checked out by 11:00am on Sunday.

Where will the ceremony and reception be?

We are hoping Mother Nature is kind to us (prayer hands!) and allows us to have our ceremony outside on the beach. As for all meals and the reception, that will be in the main lodge. Cocktail hour and a post-dinner bonfire will be held outdoors.
