Zach's Story:

The first time I saw Tanisha I could tell she was beautiful on the outside but by our first few conversations. I knew she was beautiful on the inside as well. Tanisha started her new job on the same team that I had been a supervisor of and I was told by Helene (whom interviewed Tanisha and whom was my immediate leader) that I wasn't allowed to flirt with her because she had a boyfriend.

I had laughed at her comment and said "I don't plan on flirting with anyone I work with.", but Helene must have known that there was something about Tanisha that I would have liked because on her first day, when she came into the office my heart skipped a beat.

I didn't say much to Tanisha on her first day, but over the span of her first few weeks we started to talk more and I learned about her interests and aspirations. During this time our mutual friend Eslor asked me what I thought about Tanisha; I remember my answer as if I had said it yesterday. I told Eslor "If Tanisha and I dated it would be something special."

Although I felt a strong connection to Tanisha, I never tried to overstep our working relationship. We continued to grow our friendship and even found out that we lived just 4 blocks away from one another.

Almost a year later Tanisha decided to transfer to the customer service team and also found herself newly single. To me it felt that the stars were aligning for us to try to take that next step.

On July 5th 2020, I remember her telling me that she didn't know what the right decision would be and if I thought she should give her current relationship another shot. I told Tanisha "I support your decision but I would live with regret if I didn't tell you that I had a crush on you and would like to put my hat in the ring for your affection."

By the grace of God, Tanisha reciprocated her feelings for me, and decided to give our relationship a chance. Our love quickly grew from there and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. In May of 2021, I decided to purchase the ring that I had planned to give to Tanisha and on Sept 18, 2021, with our friends and family around to witness, I asked Tanisha to be my wife; and she said "YES!!".
