Zach and I met the summer of 2018 through some mutual friends we had. My first interaction with Zach was telling him happy birthday! We continued to talk and hangout for a few months. He took me to Mankato to go to a movie and Buffalo Wild Wings for supper and he asked me to be his girlfriend November 4, 2018. We graduated high school in the spring of 2019 and went on to college. I attended Minnesota West in Jackson, Minnesota for Cosmetology, and Zach attended the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa for Aviation. We were long distance for 3 years when Zach was able to graduate and move back to Mountain Lake, MN with me. I got a job at Salon 310 in Mountain Lake, and Zach got a job as a flight instructor down at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville Iowa. We enjoy golfing, boating, camping, and trying fun drinks at our local cocktail bar The Botanist. Zach planned an evening for us at the Botanist December 11, 2023. He had me convinced we were going with our friends for a wine tasting and charcuterie night. Little did I know he was planning to propose! We went to the Botanist after work and the owner had it all set up for a big party and poured us some wine to try. I had turned around and when I turned back Zach was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Zach's brother had been hiding in the back to get pictures of the special moment as well. We went on to have a lovely dinner just the two of us and after we ate all of our friends got to come up and have dessert and drinks with us. We have been slowly planning our wedding since and are excited we are under the year mark now!
