Our Wedding

The BeginningWe first met at Rock Fore Dough during Masters week with Riley Green headlining. Zac spotted Emma in the crowd and, in typical fashion, knelt down in the wet grass to introduce himself. His first question? "What year did you graduate high school?" - a joke that thankfully didn't end things before they started! It took a few attempts and some not-so-subtle encouragement from Emma's cousin, Sabra, before she finally agreed to come up to the front and let loose. We'd spend the night dancing and singing the few lyrics we did know, not knowing that this was just the beginning. Trying to keep things going, Zac tried to be clever and invite Emma to a coffee shop where he was "working." There was just one problem - just the night before he said he was a plumber (he was actually in medical school and just applying for his journeyman). When he told Emma to swing by the coffee shop where he was doing some "work," she would completely avoid showing up, imagining him there with channellocks in hand, working on a toilet! We still laugh about this miscommunication that could have derailed our budding romance before it ever began. Despite this setback, our relationship quickly grew into something special. And soon enough, Emma became a regular at Zac's grandma's house, playing cards with family until late in the night. The moment Zac knewOur Fourth of July getaway started at what could generously be called "rustic accommodations" - in what couldn't have been more than $50/night with a busted up window unit that didn't run in PCB in the middle of summer. We had to sleep with doors the wide open for just a hint of ocean breeze. Because the doors were open, we'd have to fight off the mosquitoes trying to carry us away and all the itching had Emma fully convinced we'd been invaded by bed bugs. The adventure really peaked at 3 am one morning when Zac's mom would frantically wake all of us up to an utterly bare room - all our belongings, our clothes, our suitcases... all gone, vanished.&nbsp;Turns out, she'd been smoking cigarettes with the manager and got us another room. The window unit in the new room would last for a few hours before it too would go out. After this we'd travel across Florida to spend time with Emma's family at their condo on Amelia Island, right next to the Ritz Carlton. The contrast couldn't have been greater. It was during this rollercoaster of a vacation that Zac knew Emma was the one - her ability to find joy even in discomfort and her genuine kindness really showed during that week. A Graduation Day ProposalZac, always loving surprises, decided to turn his medical school graduation into something even more special. With a ring in his pocket and tears in his eyes, he got down on one knee. Any speech he had prepared was forgotten as we both burst into tears, with Emma saying the only word that mattered: "Yes". We came back home with all of our closest friends and family waiting to celebrate. Where We Are NowAlmost immediately after graduation and the proposal, Emma's mom gave us the incredible gift of travel. We spent two unforgettable weeks exploring Europe - collecting postcards, trying new foods, drinking plenty of wine, and creating memories to last a lifetime. For Zac, this wasn't just any trip – it was his first time ever on an airplane!&nbsp;We made the journey home an adventure too. We landed back in the states at around two in the morning, and Zac would get barely two hours of sleep before reporting for his first day of work as a resident physician. Today, we're embracing life in Columbia, SC, where Zac is wrapping up his last few months at Lexington Medical Center, while Emma continues to do what she loves working in childcare. We're eagerly counting down the days until our return to Augusta in June, where we'll settle back into our home (aka "the shop") as Zac completes his final four years of training at MCG. We cannot wait to be married and are beyond excited to have all of the most important people in our lives join us in this celebration of love. Thank you for being part of our journey! WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

For the ceremony, we are asking guests to wear formal or cocktail attire. The theme of the wedding is a summer garden party. Think floral prints and bright, fun colors. Women are asked to wear either long formal dresses, dressy separates or cocktail length dresses. Men are asked to wear a suit or tailored pieces, this also allows for khaki pants and button up shirts.&nbsp; For the welcome party being held the night before, we invite our guests to wear dressy casual attire. Women are invited to wear sundresses, lightweight separates or jumpsuits. Men are invited to wear a light dress shirt or polo with khakis or other lightweight slacks. Jackets and ties are optional. PLEASE NOTE: The ground at the venue is grass, so please wear comfortable and practical dress shoes! Causal dress items such as jeans, athletic wear and T-shirts are NOT encouraged at both the welcome party and the ceremony &amp; reception.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony of the wedding will be held outdoors. The venue has a large mansion that guests are welcome to explore and celebrate in. We will also have a large, covered&nbsp;tent set up next to the house that will host our reception. The welcome party will also be held outside in the pool courtyard along with access in and out of the mansion.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 o'clock on Saturday. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before then to be able to have your car parked and find a seat.

Are we allowed to take photos and videos during the ceremony?

We ask guests to NOT use their cellphones or cameras to take photos and videos during the ceremony. This will be a phone-free event, and we will be happy to share with you the photos and videos we receive from our photographers!&nbsp;

where should we stay?

Under the "Hotels &amp; Lodging" tab of the website, we had provided links to a few hotels near the venue in the city of Bluffton, SC. The Holiday Inn Express is offering a 15% off discount for our guests, just make sure to mention you are attending the Corley/Young wedding to receive the discount! The Hampton has blocked off a number of rooms for our guests, so be sure to mention the Corley/Young wedding to receive one of these reserved rooms! The city of Bluffton is about 30 minutes from Hilton Head Island and about 45 minutes from Savannah, Georgia - if you are wanting to stay in those areas, we encourage you to find a hotel or Airbnb to enjoy for the weekend!
