“At the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, you can race a T. rex, challenge friends in robot competitions, explore the astonishing links between dinosaurs and modern-day birds, experience a simulated earthquake, journey through the universe, and test what it means to “be human”. Everything from dinosaurs to DNA to diamonds is packed into five levels of hands-on discovery and adventure to inspire the life-long learner in all of us.”

Our Thoughts:

Sophia - “I love this museum. It’s one of my favorite things to in Dallas. I am a science nerd and this is the perfect place to explore. Make sure to check out the gem room and the human body exhibits!”

Zachary - “The Perot is really fun and cool for all ages” (actual quote. He’s not into science.)

“The hip Bishop Arts District is known for its diverse nightlife, chic independent fashion stores and colorful street art. Dining choices range from Texas-style BBQ to Vietnamese pho, while relaxed bars pour everything from cocktails to house-brewed cider. Cult movies are the draw at the Texas Theatre, while the art deco Kessler Theater presents live music by local and national bands.”

Our Thoughts:

Sophia - “Our favorite area of Dallas! It’s so artsy and creative and we love the vibe of getting to walk down Bishop Ave. Pop into Poets Bookstore if you’re a reader, La Bodega for the best rotisserie chicken you’ll ever have and if you love vintage, visit Rare Heart.”

Zachary - “Bishop Arts is really fun and cool for all ages…..kidding. I think it’s one of the coolest places in Dallas. It’s fun to see all the artsy and creative people who mingle around the area. It’s a great place to walk around and just see what you can get into.”

“Visit NorthPark Center, Dallas’ top shopping destination. NorthPark is home to 200 retailers, including luxury boutiques, trend-setting brands, restaurants, and movie theatres. Filled with museum-quality artworks and extraordinary landscaping, NorthPark is a shopping experience unlike any other.”

Northpark is a perfect one-stop shop for any shopping that you need to do! There’s lots of different shops AND they have a La La Land Cafe inside!

This is a must every time we’re in Dallas. We love Shug’s bagels. It’s always so yummy and hits the spot every time. If you aren’t able to make it before the big day, put it on your list for the morning after. It definitely makes a good hangover meal!

Our Thoughts:

Sophia’s Order - Egg sandwich with sausage, American cheese, jalapeño cream cheese, add a hash brown on an everything bagel. Don’t forget the Topo Chico or the Martinelli’s Apple Juice to go with!

Zachary’s Order - Egg sandwich with bacon and cheddar cheese on an everything bagel, ditto on the apple juice.

Dallas Farmers Market

“Today, in the heart of downtown, the Dallas Farmers Market exists to cultivate a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle for all of North Texas. Seasonal produce, free-range meats, fresh eggs, artisan pantry staples, and handmade arts + crafts can be found in The Shed every weekend year round. All products are grown and raised within Texas or 400 miles of Dallas, ensuring that the selection is always fresh, seasonal, and supports local agriculture.”

The Shed, the outdoor market, is open Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. It’s such a good time and a great place to grab locally grown fruits and veggies and to support small businesses! If you’re going on Friday, make sure the check out The Market Building; A 26,000 square foot food hall and artisanal vendor market containing four anchor restaurants, a mixture of local specialty foods, artisanal food vendors, and seating areas both inside and out where you can grab a bite to eat or enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in a view of the Dallas skyline or observing the market-goers.

Our Thoughts:

Sophia - Find the lady who does the flavored handmade pastas. You’re welcome.

Zachary - The Dallas Farmer’s market is really fun and cool for all ages…………
