Q + A
Island Boat Day: The Boat Is Full! If you haven't paid for your seat and were hoping to go, we're sorry!
There is a lot of info going on here, what is the wedding schedule exactly?
July 3rd (Wed) - Wedding Rehearsal for Bridal Party; July 4th (Thurs - AM) - Boat Excursion; July 4th (Thurs - PM) - Cocktail Meet & Greet:
July 5th (Fri - PM) - Wedding Ceremony/Reception
Where do I RSVP?
Our RSVP will be here in the section titled "RSVP." In this section, you will be asked specific questions regarding your plate preferences, event participation, etc... There isn't a "not attending" option for the wedding, so if you'd like to inform us that you're not coming you can simply decline each of the events or just message us.
Should I Bring Wedding Gifts? If Not, Where Do I Send Wedding Gifts?
Because it is a destination wedding, please send any gifts or registry items to 989 Vandalia Rd, Morgantown, WV 26501.
Will our wedding be indoor or outdoor?
The ceremony will be outdoors in a gated courtyard. While we will provide fans to generate some wind flow, wearing breathable attire for the July heat in Colombia is suggested. However, the reception will be indoors! For the ladies, the outdoor ceremony garden/courtyard is mainly small pebbles/river rocks. Word of caution if you're going to wear tiny but tall heels.
What is the weather like in Cartegena, Colombia during the month of July?
Its roughly 92 degrees F throughout the month of July with humidity around 80%. So real feel is anywhere between 95 - 99 Degrees F, in other words it's pretty warm. Due to this, we will have water and fans available to attempt to mitigate the heat.
What if I don't have a passport?
It's currently taking 6-8 months for passports to process and be received with normal passport purchases. Additionally, your passport CANNOT expire within 6 months of visiting Colombia. In other words, if your passport expires in January 2025, you would need to renew your passport in order to be at the wedding in July 2024.
What are the plate options for the reception? What if I have dietary restrictions or children with such?
Please be aware that we are working with contractors directly to accommodate any dietary request, but due to the number of people attending the wedding, options may be limited.
Please be sure to annotate any specifics during the RSVP process.
Which Hotel/ Where to stay?
First, Cartagena is amazing and safe. With that, we recommend everyone explore as many options within the walled old city as that is where all the festivities will take place.
AirBNBs are AMAZING here. Just word of caution, you get what you pay for here in Colombia. However, don't hesitate to check them out, along with some of the hotels we listed. Just be mindful of their location and the distances to/from the Historic Museum of Cartagena and/or Casa 1537.
