Zach and Ivy met while playing the romantic leads ("Cindy" and "Paulo") on the Seattle Opera School Tour production of Cinderella en España. Ivy liked to nickname the school tour's various locations Cindy and Paulo's "honeymoon destinations," e.g. #cindyandpauloswenatcheehoneymoon. We did three opera productions together that spring and summer and became fast friends.

We started dating in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. Our relationship has weathered Ivy's gig travels, the loss of a beloved pet, Zach's stint in grad school and current career as an opera chorister at San Francisco Opera, health crises, and more. There's also been a lot of joy: two new kittens (now two years old), annual camping trips--the last of which led to our engagement!, and lots of Indian food.

Now Cindy and Paulo are finally getting married for real! Our child audiences would be delighted.

We are excited to celebrate with you all and bring you back to our relationship roots, so to speak, with a night of tapas and sangria, music and paella.
