Travel Tips
1) We recommend that you bring bug spray, as we have heard the bugs can be a bit bad including the sand fleas.
2) We highly recommend reserving Club Mobay for arrival and departure, but mostly for departure. Sandals provides transportation for when you arrive and depart. However, for your departure, Sandals will have your ride ready about 4 hours before your flight. Airlines require that you are at the airport at least 3 hours prior for international flights.
Club Mobay is an arrival and departure club/service whose representatives will meet you at your arrival gate, see you safely through customs and immigration, and settle you into their arrival lounge for a drink or two before they connect you with your ground transportation. Club MoBay can be booked through our travel agent Tiffany Vail.
3) Once you land and exit customs you are going to want to find the Sandals lounge which will be located on the left. Sandals does not usually combine transportation to the resorts, so you will be waiting for transportation to just your resort. If you have a high end butler room with a private transfer, your wait may be short or non-existent. For everyone else, the wait time could be around 30-45 min.
4) Always pack what you need for the first few hours in a carry-on when you arrive. From what we have heard, the baggage guys are like ninjas. While your distracted checking in, they will take your bags and put in your room when it's ready. If you want to swim while you wait for your room, keep the proper attire with you.
5) We recommend checking in online as this will speed up the process once you get to the resort. You MUST check in more than 4 days prior to arrival, but after full payment. If you check in online, they will verify your flight information, have you sign a couple of waivers, and ask for a credit card for incidentals.
6) Sandals is a non-tipping environment. So please, no tipping of Sandals employees except for butlers and spa attendants. Red caps at the airport, tour staff and transfer drivers are not Sandals employees and can be tipped if you wish. If you tip a Sandals employee, they are required to report it and turn into management. If they don't they could possibly lose their job.
7) Prior to your arrival, we recommend that you download the Sandals app. The app will tell you about special events and happenings during your stay. Things like what/when they have entertainers on what nights, special events, etc.
8) If you plan on drinking, bring your own tumbler! Drinks tend to melt very quickly, especially frozen drinks in the hot weather.
9) Bring your own sunscreen & aloe! At the resort, sunscreen and aloe will be very expensive. Buy small enough sizes and enough to last your entire trip so you are not spending $30 on a bottle of sunscreen.
10) There are many excursions in the area such as Floyd's Pelican Bar, Black River Safari and more. If you are wanting to leave the resort on a certified tour you can reach out to our travel agent Tiffany about this as well!
