Our whirlwind love story begins with a simple comment on a Facebook picture. Lots of Facebook messages turned into texting turned into phone calls. This went on for a little while. The next logical step was to meet in person. Our first date was at Woods of Terror. I highly recommend taking a date to a haunted house because she will cling to you all night.
That's all it took. We instantly clicked like old friends. There was no awkward stage. I've never been one to believe in love at first sight. It wasn't like that. It wasn't falling fast and hard. It was like we had always known each other. It was like coming home. There was so much laughter and smiles on that first date that we couldn't wait for another date. We met again just a few days later for dinner.
By a month in we were saying I love you and meeting family and friends. The plan was to meet the kids after the holidays but even the kids could tell how happy we made each other and they begged to meet the person responsible for all this happiness. Before Thanksgiving, we met the kids and it went so well that we went out together again the next day.
Fast forward not very much to March. We were spending weekends together by this time. We were talking about our future. We were dreaming of houses and a wedding. Then on March 8th, it happened. We got engaged! Another dream came true when we bought a house together on April 16, 2025.
Our relationship progressed so quickly that we expected push back but there was none. To all of our loved ones, it was obvious how happy we made each other. It hasn't been all rainbows and kittens, there have been bumps which is to be expected. We are ready to face lives challenges together. We are so excited to celebrate our love with our closest friends and family when we say I do on October 18, 2025.
