Our Wedding

Our love story started as most do nowadays... with a right swipe on a dating app. It was late October of 2020 so we were both on COVID lockdown and dating apps were really the only way to meet people. After talking for about a month, we met up at Dacha in Shaw for a boot of beer and the rest is history!

Once Upon a Dating App

The night started as nothing out of the ordinary. We went to dinner at a new restaurant at the Wharf in DC, where we had lived together for the past two years. After dinner, we started to walk along the water back to our apartment and that is when Zack got down on one knee! He knelt down for about 10 seconds and then just stood up without saying anything. In true Brenda fashion, she goes 'WELL ARE YOU GOING TO SAY ANYTHING?' and then Zack remembered he still needed to ask Brenda the most important question! It was an obvious 'DUH' and the rest is history! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in VA!

The dress code for our wedding is formal attire. Think garden party. We’d love it if guests in dresses chose to wear spring pastel/floral midi or floor-length dresses. For those in a suit, we ask that a suit jacket be worn but a tie is not required.

The most convenient airport to fly into is going to be Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). This is about a 9-minute drive to the venue and is also accessible by metro. Dulles International Airport and Baltimore Washington International are also in the area but not as convenient to the venue.

Airports

Amtrak is a great option if you are coming from somewhere a bit closer! The Alexandria Amtrak Depot is a 7-minute drive from the venue. For the metro, King St-Old Town (blue and yellow lines) is the closest metro stop to the venue. It is a 20-minute walk from the stop to The Alexandrian. There are also metro buses that will take you from the metro stop to close by the hotel.

Please note that this is the hotel where the wedding is being held. While our room block has ended, you are still able to book a room at this hotel for the standard rate offered. If you do end up booking here, please let Zack or Brenda know.
