- Ceremony Specific Questions -
Where Is The Ceremony?
The Moraine Park Amphitheater. We will send a “Guest Navigation Guide” for further details.
How Do I Get To The Moraine Park Amphitheater?
Coming from Estes Park you will enter the Rocky Mountain National Park at the Beaver Meadows Entrance on "Park Entrance Road." Take the first left onto "Bear Lake Road." Then take the first left again onto "Moraine Park CG." There is a large lot to park in outside of the Moraine Park Discovery Center.
What Is Timed Entry?
To control inflow of traffic into the park, every vehicle must have a timed entry pass. We have secured timed entry passes for all guests attending our rehearsal and ceremony on May 24 and 25. If you plan to enter the park any other day, see this link for more information. https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm
Will I Lose Cell Service?
You will definitely lose service after entering the park, about 5 minutes after passing the Beaver Meadow Visitor Center!! Have GPS set before entering the park and be prepared to navigate with our provided maps. While we are excited for an offline wedding ceremony, we want to make sure all guests arrive at the correct location.
Will I Need To "Hike" To The Ceremony Location?
Nope! The amphitheater is a short walk from the parking lot. No physical ability required.
Will There Be Restrooms?
Yes! Two restrooms are nearby. The closest is right off of the parking lot within the Moraine Park Discovery Center. The secondary location is 2.7 miles away in the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center on Bear Lake Road. It's highly recommended stopping at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center before arriving at the ceremony.
Should We Carpool?
Yes! We highly recommend carpooling since the entrance passes are purchased for an entire vehicle. There will be no shortage of parking spots available but we are limited to only occupying 10 of them.
What Is The Dress Code?
Mountain Semi-Formal. Please do not feel the need to purchase a whole new outfit. We would like guests to dress as they would for a nice event but lean into the mountain theme. Layered and comfortable clothing are a priority since we will be outdoors.
What Weather To Expect?
We expect the average temperature to range from 40-60. Layering clothing is highly recommended. Packing a rain jacket is also recommended since the mountains tend to rain in the afternoons.
What If It Rains?
If the rain poses no threat to safety we will continue as originally planned and just add "Singin' In The Rain" to our playlist.
What Time Should I Arrive?
Traffic at the park entrance is not uncommon, please monitor traffic conditions and be prepared to budget 45 minutes from Estes Park to the ceremony site. We ask that all guests are in the amphitheater by 9:40 am (to not spoil the arrival of the bride).
Is There A Park Entrance Fee?
Yes, Rocky Mountain National Park has a fee! Serval options are available. We recommend the $35 seven day private vehicle pass. Passes may be purchased in advance at www.recreation.gov or in person at the Beaver Meadows Entrance. For additional help purchasing entrance passes contact the bride or groom.
---
NOTE: For guests over the age of 62 you qualify to purchase the "Lifetime Senior Pass" for $80 or the "Annual Senior Pass" for $20.
Can I Take Photos During the Ceremony?
Everyone will be given the opportunity to take a few photos at the start of the ceremony, but we ask that phones be put away right after this. --- It's important to the bride and groom that all guests are fully present and take in the moment as it only happens once. A professional photographer will capture all the photos and a go pro will video the entire ceremony. All guests will receive photos and a copy of the recording in the weeks to follow.
