How should I RSVP?

We prefer RSVP's on our wedding website, but you can also refer to the instructions on the physical card! If you're still having concerns, let us know :)

Is there a hotel block?

No, but please see our travel page for recommendations!

What is the dress code for the events?

Please wear what you feel best in, but here are some suggestions; For The Mehndi (June 28th 2024), bright colors are ideal, and rocking a South Asain outfit is welcomed! Regardless, wear any outfit that you can dance the night away in! For The Shaadi, (June 29th 2024) & The Walima (June 30th 2024), we ask that our guest dress their best in formal attire - regardless if South Asian, Western, or anything else!

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Yes! #zainabneedsnoman

Why are there several events?

Weddings are a big deal in South Asian culture, and we really mean it when we say its not just two people getting married, but two families becoming one. Each family tailors the wedding experience to what they want, making each marriage so unique. Our families decided to have 3 main events; The Mehndi hosted by both families is traditionally was where the bride applied her mehndi (henna) and women gathered to dance and sing. Keeping the spirit of joyful dancing, our families are hosting this eventful night filled with dancing and color. The Shaadi (also known as the Baraat) is hosted by the brides family, and is considered the Western equivalent of the wedding day - wedding bands are exchanged, games are played to stop the groom from "taking" the bride , and the night ends with the bride symbolically leaving her family to join the grooms as his wife (this is pretty emotional, so don't be alarmed if there are tears!). The Walima is the final event to wrap up the wedding weekend, hosted by the grooms family to welcome their new bride.
