One of my favorite places to shop around in Columbus! You could easily spend a half day there. Favorite places to eat: Slurping Turtle (ramen), Restoration Hardware Rooftop cafe (kinda pricey but so so pretty), Brassica, Brio (has great weekday happy hour deals), and Jeni’s ice cream. Favorite shopping stores: Aritzia, Zara, Abercrombie & Fitch, Barnes & Noble, Nespresso store (which feeds my coffee addiction). -Hannah
A popular Columbus restaurant (a must go-to if you’ve never been to Columbus)! This place is easily one of our favorites restaurants to visit: great weekday happy hour deals, great drinks and food, and is where we had our first date in 2019 and celebrated our engagement immediately after Ziyue proposed. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We always have to order the calamari for an appetizer and always order the Kiwi Mule if we want a drink! Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as this place gets packed.
A fun, lively place to hang out at night! They have great drinks, bowling, and arcade games. Great for a group to visit, since this place is huge. There’s also another Pins Mechanical Co. at Easton Town Center.
One of the best bakery & coffee shops in Columbus. Hands down has the BEST breakfast egg sandwich that I’ve ever tasted. It gets super busy during the weekend mornings but they move the line along pretty quickly. My favorite items: egg sandwich, tomato galette (seasonal summer pastry), blueberry galette, ham and swiss croissant, and the New Orleans iced coffee.
A French inspired Japanese bakery. This is where we plan on getting our wedding cake! Our faves: Strawberry cake, almond croissant, bacon & corn bread roll. My mom always asks me to bring home a ton of pastries when I drive back to Louisville from Columbus. Belle’s is also located right next to Tensuke Market (where you can buy sushi and other Asian foods), J Avenue (a Japanese marketplace with plushies, toys, etc), and Akai Hana (Ziyue’s family’s favorite sushi place). -Hannah
Ziyue’s family’s favorite sushi place in Columbus! (Make a reservation in advance if you can!)
Formerly a milk company bottling factory, this renovated building is now a food hall with 10 different food vendors, a bar, and rooftop bar. Super fun to visit with a group of friends as well. Definitely get the lemon shake up if you want a fun drink!
(This is where 18-year-old Hannah thought she was gonna have her wedding. 25-year-old Hannah disagreed.)
Go explore the best campus in the Midwest ;) (and maybe the best campus in the entire US?) Make sure you visit the RPAC (the 5 story gym that Hannah misses all the time) and The Shoe (aka the football stadium). We’re always happy to give guided tour of our fave campus (assuming we’re available). Go Bucks, always!
