It all started on Hinge, one of those dating apps that people often go on half-heartedly, thinking it might lead somewhere or might just be another swipe into oblivion. I wasn’t expecting much, but I had hope. I’d been through my fair share of awkward first dates and half-baked connections, but something told me that maybe, just maybe, this time would be different. And then, I saw him. The moment his profile popped up, something inside me shifted. His smile was warm, his eyes inviting, and there was a certain kindness about him that I instantly gravitated toward. I can’t explain it exactly, but when I laid eyes on him, I knew. I knew he was the one. There was no grand explanation, no lightning bolt, just a deep, unshakable feeling that he was the person I had been hoping for. I remember overthinking what to say to him at first, wondering if I should play it cool or be my usual, quirky self. So, naturally, I sent something a little silly—a bit of my weirdness that I had learned to embrace. I didn’t try to hide who I was, knowing that if he didn’t like the real me, then we weren’t meant to be. And to my surprise, he didn’t just tolerate my oddities, he loved them. He would laugh at my jokes, embrace my spontaneous thoughts, and even share his own quirky little moments. He didn’t judge me for being a little different—he welcomed it. As we talked more, I realized that our connection was something unique. We’d talk for hours about anything and everything—our favorite movies, childhood memories, random thoughts that made us laugh, and deeper conversations about life and faith. It felt effortless. With every message, I felt more certain that this wasn’t just another app fling. This was something special, something that had been woven into my life for a reason. I also felt like this was God’s work. I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason, but meeting him felt like a sign that God had been orchestrating the perfect timing in my life. We had both gone through our own struggles and growth, and yet somehow, we crossed paths at exactly the right moment. There was no rush, no pressure—just a peaceful feeling that this was part of a bigger plan. When we finally met in person, all the nervous energy I’d built up quickly dissolved. There was no awkwardness, no pretending. It was just us. I could see in his eyes that he felt the same way—that spark, that pull, that recognition that we were exactly where we needed to be. He was the one. I could feel it in every word we spoke, in every laugh we shared. Our love has grown stronger since then. There have been challenges, of course, but through it all, I’m reminded of the simple truth: we were meant to find each other. Every moment together has been a gift, every laugh, every deep conversation, every quiet evening shared. I’m thankful every day that he overlooked my weirdness and saw me for who I truly am. And every day, I thank God for bringing us together—because this love story is truly His work.
