We met in the summer of 2022. Both of us were counselors at Camp Tahkodah and we were strangers to one another. We were drawn to each other, but just as friends. Through the prompting of Abigail Wornock and Cameron Jernigan, we continued to stay in touch throughout the rest of the summer.

Drew sent a text at the beginning of the school year, and shortly after we went to Sonic together - our first time seeing each other after Camp Tahkodah. We didn't talk much the next week, and Zoe assumed he had lost interest. But as soon as she had given up, he invited her on another date. We sat at a frozen yogurt shop called Chillz for two hours and couldn't stop talking! A month later, we started officially dating.

Unfortunately, after a few short months, Zoe went abroad to Peru. Drew had done the same trip the Spring before, and it was an incredible opportunity to have a shared yet individually unique experience. It challenged our ability to communicate, prioritize the other person, and grow in our emotional and spiritual intimacy. We both realized that we wanted to marry each other, and the next few months only confirmed that to us both.

We spent the next year and a half growing together and learning what it means to engage in a Christ-centered, others-focused relationship. In September of 2024, Drew proposed at Camp Tahkodah! We're best friends and cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives learning to love one another with a Spirit-filled love! We know it will be our greatest honor and privilege to walk alongside each other through everything life offers.
