Their story began in a 2008 high school drama class... even though they didn't know it back then. Both Zoë and William didn't speak to each other much, save to work on an assigned scene together. But hey, at least they were friends on Facebook. Flash forward to July 2019. Zoë had just moved back to the Charlottesville area after a couple of years of living in Ecuador. William was living and working full-time in Harrisonburg while also pursuing a career in theatre on the side. Thanks to a certain dating app, the two reconnected. It wasn't fireworks at first, in fact, Zoë decided that William would be a friend-- and that's it. However, something about William kept pulling her back. He made her feel safe and she found comfort in his kindness. So, Zoë made the first move in late August of that summer by asking William to brunch.
After that brunch, Zoë knew she saw a future with Will. He wasn't so sure. But over that next year Zoë showed Will that she was perfect person for him. She shared his silly sense of humor, loved all the same foods (except maybe veggies) and pushed him to be a better, stronger person. They got through the COVID quarantine together and moved to Richmond, VA so that Will could pursue his theatre teacher dreams by going to grad school at VCU. They adopted their dog, Pepper, together and Zoë adopted William's cat Sterling as her own (in her heart, haha). They both started teaching jobs in Richmond and have created a life for themselves there. They are so excited to embark on the next step of their journey together.
