Our Story

Once upon a time in the vast and sometimes awkward kingdom of online dating, there lived two unsuspecting souls named Zoe and Bertin. Little did they know that fate had a wicked sense of humor and a penchant for bringing together people with a shared love for animals and a good laugh. Their journey began with a "like" and a clever comment from Bertin about NOT engaging in a game of table tennis with Zoe. As messages flowed back and forth Bertin asked if Zoe would like to hop on a phone call. Zoe's response "lets just meet in person". Zoe and Bertin discovered a peculiar twist of fate - they had both attended the same high school but had somehow managed to miss each other in the bustling halls. Fate, it seemed, had been playing hide-and-seek with their hearts until the perfect moment arrived, that and Bertin graduated before Zoe was a freshman! Their first date was set at the local restaurant village bakery. In typical Bertin fashion he ordered everything on the menu (after all he was born in the year of the pig). Bertin talked and Zoe listened, then Bertin talked more, and then even more. If fact, it has been told that Zoe sat there listening to a nervous rambling fool until the restaurant slowly emptied and it was time to go. And so, Zoe and Bertin, the digital duo who met through the traditional channels of Hinge, embarked on their happily ever after—a life filled with love, laughter, and a growing zoo of adorable creatures (2 dogs, 8 chickens and an every growing list of more dogs, sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, and cows). Their story became a beacon of hope for all those still navigating the twists and turns of the web of love. After all, in the realm of online romance, sometimes all it takes is a swipe, a shared high school history, a love for humor, and a virtual zoo to create a match made in digital heaven.

The Engagement

Just before midnight on New Year's Eve, Bertin found himself on a covert mission that would rival any spy thriller. Sneaking out of the house with the grace of a ninja in pursuit of true love, he tip-toed down the quiet streets to Zoe's parents' house. In a bold move reminiscent of knights of old, Bertin first approached Zoe's father. In a chivalrous tone, he asked for his blessing to marry Zoe. With a raised eyebrow and a twinkle in his eye, Zoe's dad approved, secretly appreciating Bertin's commitment to tradition. Not one to leave anyone out, Bertin then sought the approval of Zoe's mother. With both parental blessings secured, Zoe's dad, feeling like the master puppeteer of a romantic comedy, decided to add a little flair to the evening. He dialed Zoe's number, who was frantically searching the house for her rogue boyfriend, completely unaware of the unfolding drama. "Zoe, dear, could you come over?" her dad said with a mischievous grin. "We have a surprise for you." Zoe arrived at her parents' house, bewildered and slightly out of breath from the New Year's Eve scavenger hunt. To her astonishment, her parents were present, wearing sly smiles that hinted at some mysterious plot. In classic fashion, Bertin dropped to one knee, producing a small box that held the promise of forever. With an earnest expression and a twinkle in his eye, he asked the timeless question, "Zoe, will you marry me?" Her jaw dropped, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Then, with a burst of joy, Zoe exclaimed, "Yes!" The room erupted in cheers and laughter, just as the clock struck midnight, signaling the start of the new year and a new chapter in their lives.
