When should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP no later than February 22, 2025 using this website (you can click the RSVP tab!) We hope to hear from all of you and cannot wait to celebrate with you day of together or far apart.
Can I bring a guest?
We'd love to include everyone but unfortunately can only accommodate those guests who are formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP on the website. Thank you for understanding, and please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Are kids invited?
We love all the little ones in our life. Invitations will be specific and will include the names of children who are invited. However, we encourage you to use this evening as a "night out" for yourself!
What is the dress code?
We would love to see our favorite people get dressed up for our big day. The official dress code is festive formal.
In honor of the historic venue, bring out your bold colors and patterns! We love any & all opportunities to showcase personality. We want everyone to feel their best!
Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?
Our bridal party will be in a "Classic Emerald" (& in velvet) which is the color of this page- if you're hoping to avoid matching.
Also, maybe avoid white.
What time should I arrive?
Our ceremony begins promptly (even for Sam!) at 5pm. We recommend you aim to arrive no later than 4:45pm to ensure you are seated in time. There will be two areas for seating- on the floor of the theater, or up in the balcony seats.
Where do I park?
For in town guests or those not staying in Detroit: there is a QR code for the Gem Theater Garage. It is located on 1901 Brush St, Detroit. The QR code is available on the Travel page and can be scanned for free parking- so have our wedding website pulled up or the QR code screenshotted beforehand.
For out of town guests: there is valet parking with the hotel, or for a lower cost the Z Lot about a block away. More information on both is on the Travel tab.
What do I do if I can't make it?
You will be missed!! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "not attending" so we can plan accordingly.
If you have already RSVP'd or it is past the deadline and can no longer make it, please notify Sam or Kevin at 734-233-8501.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
We are having an unplugged (and very quick!) ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that phones be put away and silenced. We want everyone to be fully present with us and for our photographer to be able to capture the best moments, which we will absolutely share with you.
There are plenty of great photo ops throughout the Gem theater, so please take advantage during cocktail hour and dancing and share those with us! We'd love to see the celebration through your eyes.
Are there any coordinated photos I should be aware of?
Yes! There are a couple!
1. If you are family member (Adamson, Bauters, Bolin, or Boyer- we sure are a beginning of the alphabet heavy family), we will be doing family pictures immediately proceeding the ceremony. Please hang back so we can capture a moment with our families.
2. If you attended Penn State or U of M, listen for a muscial cue during the reception for an alumni picture with our flags!
What are my reception dinner options?
We are offering a duo plate- so no one has to choose (Sam's favorite!). It will consist of a filet mignon and herb roasted chicken with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes.
If you are vegetarian, the dish is an eggplant napoleon served with linguine.
If you are vegan, the dish is a grilled cauliflower steak served with lentil quinoa salad, asparagus, and harissa.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you, so get ready to celebrate!
I have time to spare before the wedding/before I head home- what should I do?
We listed out some (there's so many!) of our favorite Detroit spots on our Things to Do page!
You are also welcome to spend more time with us the Friday before at the Lone Goat, or the morning after at breakfast at the Element!
Ask Away!
If there are any questions you still have, please please please reach out to Kevin or Sam!
