Our story began unexpectedly, with a casual invitation after a round of golf. I (Billy) had just finished a round with my friend Brian, who suggested we head back to his place for a BBQ. Little did I know, this invitation would change my life. Upon arriving, I immediately noticed Siobhan, who was baking cookies with Brian's now wife, Kendra.

In a move reminiscent of a high school rom-com, our initial encounter was being closely monitored as Kendra was discreetly (or not so discreetly!) trying to gauge if there was any interest between us. Adding to the unique circumstances, I was also in the midst of a pig-sitting gig at the time. So, naturally, the next logical step was to introduce everyone to my temporary farm animal friends. It was definitely an icebreaker! That night, we went out, and a spark ignited.

We began seeing each other, navigating the distance between Oshawa (where Siobhan was) and Ottawa (my home). Just as things were getting serious, I accepted a job in Fraser Lake, British Columbia. Talk about long-distance! Then, life threw us a curveball – the pandemic hit. I returned home after about six months, and Siobhan and I found ourselves basically living with my mom full time. It wasn't the most conventional start to a relationship, but we made it work, finding laughter and love amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the world. After a few rounds of lockdowns, we took a leap and bought our first home together on Boulder Way. And from that moment on, we knew we were building something special.

From pig adventures to pandemic pivots, we've faced every challenge hand-in-hand, and we've come out stronger than ever. So after four amazing years together, I asked Siobhan to marry me on our anniversary trip in Quebec City. We're so excited to celebrate our love story with you as we begin the next chapter of our lives together. We can't wait to see you at our wedding!
