Tyler and Abbie first met in 2010 through mutual friends. Even though timing wasn't right those 13 years ago, Tyler and Abbie stayed in touch. Through random run ins, instagram messages and holiday parties, Abbie and Tyler continued to stay connected. Fast forward to Summer of 2021. Abbie and Tyler's mutual friend Tyler (yes, another Tyler!) invited Abbie to watch a preseason Seahawks game. If you know Abbie, it won't surprise you that she said yes- who wouldn't want to get bar food and watch the Hawks play with some friends? The Hawks game turned into a night out in Fremont. And by the end of the night, Tyler asked Abbie to go on a date. With some hesitation, but confident in her answer, she said yes. As a lot of you know, Tyler doesn't live in Seattle. He lives in Detroit. The day Tyler asked Abbie out, he was only visiting for a few days and had a flight to catch back to Michigan bright and early the following Monday. But he was determined to see Abbie before he went home. Abbie met Tyler in Alki on a warm Sunday evening. They jumped on some Lime scooters and headed towards Cactus to have some happy hour. Happy hour turned into dinner, which turned into more drinks. And before they knew it, it was 11pm and had a 45 minute walk back to Abbie's car. Unknowingly to Abbie, Tyler had a 6 am flight to catch the next morning, back to Detroit- but Tyler didn't show one ounce of tiredness or rush to end the date. The first date went so well, that only a week later, Tyler decided to come back out to Seattle to spend some more time with Abbie. And to Abbie, this was a sign that this guy was serious. They spent a few more days together, going to breweries, hanging out with their mutual friends, going out to dinner and watching the Mariner's play. Then... if you all know Tyler, the most important weekend of the entire year was upon us... LABOR DAVE WEEKEND. Abbie, NOT a Dave Matthews fan (it's elevator music, right?) opted out when Tyler asked if she'd like to join him for the long weekend at the Gorge with him and his Dave friends. But after a day at at Husky stadium with her Matron of Honor and best friend, Kathryn, she decided to call Tyler and tell him she'd be driving to the Gorge Sunday morning to join him (thanks to Kat's nudge). If anyone has been to Labor Dave Weekend, then you know- no one is in their top human state on Sunday. It's hot. You're tired. You're dehydrated and you're ready for a shower. But Tyler welcomed Abbie in, introduced her to his friends- whom she hit it off with, and reluctantly, dove into all the Dave festivities. Halfway through the show, Dave played "Here on Out." Was it the vodka? Was it the dehydration? The lack of sleep from waking up early and driving 5 hours on Sunday? Or was it THAT feeling? Abbie started crying during the song and that was the moment she knew. Yep... this is the guy. Is it okay if I call you mine, from here on out... as if I could ever stop. And here we are. Ready to live life together. From here on out. We are so thankful for all of you who have participated in our growing love. In our crazy, long distanced life. It might not make sense sometimes- we've had a lot of Zoom dates. But everyday we choose each other, and we're so excited to choose each other for the rest of our lives.

Kathyrn and Abbie have been friends since they were both 13. They met playing softball in middle school and hit it off immediately. Even though they grew up going to different schools, they melded each friend group they had into one big group. During high school, they may have concocted a bit of trouble by throwing a few parties at Kathryn's parents house, but that's what teenagers are supposed to do, right? 

Though college took Kathryn to California and then after, Abbie left the country for her 3 year stint in Korea, they kept in touch. Kathryn has been that rock for Abbie. She is the most supportive, caring, joyful yet sassy friend anyone could ask for. Whenever Abbie is going through it, no doubt Kathryn is right there ready to be a shoulder. 

Kathryn- you've always rooted for me. I couldn't think of anyone better to stand next to me on my big day. I love you bb!!

Kathryn Flajole

Benny and Tyler met on the North Bothell Little League fields in 1991. Although they were competitors at the time, little did they know that they would reconnect and become great friends at the age of 12. Ben and Tyler attended middle and high school together- and throughout the entire time, they played ball together, a game they both love. 

Although geographically separated for a majority of their adult life, Benny and Tyler make time for each other. Last April, they were able to roadtrip from Tennessee to Augusta to experience the Masters together! And most recently, Tyler and Abbie visited Ben and Amanda in Nashville, where Ben helped plan the proposal! 

I loved standing next to you on your big day, Benny- thank you for standing next to me! 


Ben Olin

Jen and Abbie have known each other since... day 1. Jen and Abbie are cousins (Carlson family, where you at?!?) and even more so, friends. Through their love of travel, exploring new countries, flying across states and continents to see each other, they've become so much more than just family. Jen has always been there for Abbie- with a solution... just fly *insert Jen's current location* and let's go have fun! 

If you know Jen already, then you know that she is quite possibly the coolest person on this planet. Her sass, pure knowingness of who she is and her outlook on life are unmatched. No matter what, Abbie can always count on Jen, even if she's 8,000 miles away (literally- she's in Antarctica as I write this). 

Jen, you have been more than a cousin, your my friend, my sister, one of my soulmates. I love you dearly and I am so happy that you will be standing with my on my big day. 

Jennifer Stefnik

Craig Tupper, Tyler’s English teacher (and Tup’s older brother), introduced Tyler and Tup one night at a Bothell high school basketball game. And to say the rest is history, is a little bit of an understatement. 

Tyler and Tup both attended Edmonds CC, and both went on to Western Carolina in Cullowhee, to play college ball together. But before they left Edmonds, they won the 2003 NWAC Championship. Both pitchers, both 5 foot nothing, both competitors, both bulldogs… Tup headed down to Western Carolina a year before Tyler due to Tyler’s Tommy John surgery. But once they reconnected, they stayed close friends. 

From teammates, college roommates, adult roommates, and your best man at your wedding, we’ve been brothers for a long time. Thank you for standing up there on my big day too, Tup. 

Bryan Tupper

Lindsay and Abbie met awkwardly in middle school, with Lindsay's incredible pick up line of "Hey... do you like my socks?" Abbie, in dire need of friends said yes. But from that day forward, Lindsay has been a constant in Abbie's life. Peanut Butter & Jelly since puberty, they continue to find time for each other, even though life is busy. 

Lindsay is one of the funniest, most sarcastic and dark humored people you'll ever meet. And if you know Abbie well, you know that fits her vibe exactly. Lindsay keeps is so honestly real and there's no one else Abbie would have wanted to meet on the fateful day in middle school P.E.. 

Lindsay- you are the realest, funniest human being I've ever met. I'm so grateful to call you a friend and even though I know I'm not your best friend, I am happy to settle for 2nd. I love you so much, you weirdo and I am so grateful that you'll be standing with me on my big day. Love you PBJ.

Lindsay Berndahl

Tyler and CRuss were competitors in the 4th grade elementary school track meet. The event was the ball throw and CRuss destroyed Tyler. Even though they went to different elementary schools at the time, CRuss would join Tyler in 5th grade at Fernwood Elementary and they’ve been friends ever since.

CRuss, the free spirit of the group, marches to the beat of his own drum. Because of CRuss’ personality and his love for exploration, he and Tyler have experienced some crazy things together. From a Seahawks game at Lambeau in 2016 (btw, Wilson had 5 picks that night 🙁) to Benny’s Nashville move-in party, our our high school road trips to B.C.and our NCAA tournament in Portland.

CRuss- I love that you’re my yes man. I can count on you to always try new things, travel to new places and give me a different perspective on life. Thank you for being with me on my big day, I can’t wait to watch you marry your love in Iceland after mine! Love you man!

Chris Russell

Melissa and Abbie have been friends since kindergarten. Growing up only two streets away from each other meant that they both had built in friends throughout elementary, middle and high school. And over the last 30+ years, even though months may go in between them speaking, they’ve stayed great friends. 
Melissa is one of the funniest, wittiest, pee your pants laughing people you’ll ever meet. With her sense of passion for life- literally you can call Melissa anytime and she’s DOWN to hang out, people flock to her. And throughout the years, Abbie and Melissa have bonded over their laughs, jokes and love for the group of friends they’ve created. 
Meliss- you make me cackle nearly every time I see you. I love you immensely and I am so thankful that you’ve been in my life for 30 freaking years! I cannot wait to have you stand by me on my big day. You are one of my true soul sisters. Here’s to 30 more years, slug!

Melissa Hill

Similar to Tup and Tyler’s friendship, Tyler and Haggett met at Edmonds Community College playing ball. If Tyler was left handed, he’d be Haggett on the mound. These two are essentially the yin and yang of community college baseball pitchers. 

Tyler and Haggett ventured off to different sides of the country to play college ball after ECC, however they always made for each other whenever Tyler was back in the Seattle area. Tyler could always count on a free couch at Haggett’s apartment to crash on. And vice versa- Haggett has always made time to visit Tyler in Detroit. 

From Silvertips games and Apple Cups, to season ticket holders for the Hawks, you’ve always been there for me whenever we needed to send it. You’ve been an ear when I needed it… I appreciate you man! Thank you for being a part of my big day.

Jen and Abbie have been the best of friends, through thick and thin, ups and downs over the past 15+ years. Meeting through mutual friends in highschool, Abbie and Jen became fast friends. Working together at their first job as baristas, throwing parties (sorry mom!) and running in the same crowd throughout high school. 
Jen is one of the most loyal human beings you’ll ever meet. Her dedication to friendship, learning from others, sincerely committing to her community and always up for a glass of wine is the reason her and Abbie have remained friends for so long. 
Jen- you have been the best friend I could ask for! From visiting me in England, running around Bellingham and Seattle, going out in NYC and sharing our HORRID dating stories… you’ve always been there. I love you so, so much and I cannot wait to have you by my side on my big day! 

Jennifer Tamblin

Tyler and Joe (aka Captain Tug), went to high school together. Joe, a year younger, met Tyler through mutual friends and Bothell baseball. Between rolling the rock, hobag, dinner at La Pa (South Everett location), Joe has always been the grown up of the group and Tyler always looked up to Joe because of this.

From dad’s weekends filled with golf to the famous Bailey Family Christmas parties (here-yee, here-yee!!), Joe has been that constant in Tyler’s life. Joe is someone Tyler has always been able to count on. Even if they disagree half the time, Joe is that guy that you know will always be there.

The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.visitseattle.org/partners/chihuly-garden-and-glass-pd/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chihuly Garden and Glass</a>&nbsp;museum is dedicated to the work and career of locally born, world-renowned glassblower Dale Chihuly, who was introduced to the craft while studying at the University of Washington. It is the most comprehensive collection of his art to date, with interior galleries featuring a variety of his work in the medium. The pièce de résistance is the glasshouse, with a vibrant 100-foot-long sculpture in hues of red, orange, and yellow suspended from the ceiling.

From the iconic market sign and Rachel the Piggy Bank to the gum wall, the original Starbucks cafe, well over 225 local artisans selling their wares, the famous fish-tossing tradition, and music-playing street performers, there are enough sights and sounds at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.visitseattle.org/partners/pike-place-market-preservation-development-authority-pd/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pike Place Market</a>&nbsp;to pack a day (or more). The market added its historic MarketFront expansion in 2017, featuring an open-air plaza and fantastic views of Elliott Bay.

Visit the city’s first skyscraper, built in 1914, and ride the historic, manually operated elevators to the 35th-floor observatory, where 360-degree views await. Displays tell the tale of characters who made&nbsp;<a href="https://www.visitseattle.org/partners/smith-tower-pd/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Smith Tower</a>&nbsp;what it is today, while the tower’s Prohibition-themed Temperance bar serves themed cocktails.

There are several secure and accessible parking lots near Axis Pioneer Square. I've included a map (our venue is the red marker). You can visit https://downtownseattle.org/parking/ and search for parking near "Axis Pioneer Square." Lumen Field parking is about a 6 minute walk from the venue and is very secure. You can also park at University of Washington or Angel Lake and take the light rail in. The light rail station is "Pioneer Square" and it's about a 5 minute walk to the venue from the station.
