Cole and Abby met in 2020 in Duluth, Minnesota. At the time Cole was playing hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth and Abby was in her last year of nursing school at the College of St. Scholastica. After a few months of getting to know one another and hanging out with mutual friends, Cole and Abby started dating in February of 2021. That following May, Abby graduated nursing school and Cole went on to play his first year of professional hockey. Cole and Abby have dated long distance through many different cities and states throughout Abby's travel nursing and Cole's hockey seasons. Fast forward to February 2023 when Cole proposed to Abby at Central Park in New York City!
