Hi there!

We’re Derek and Abby! We are so excited to have you along on this journey with us preparing to get married; along with having your support down the road once we are married. Now a little bit more about us and how we met and grew our relationship.

We met online in September of 2022 and (thanks to Derek) met in person very shortly thereafter. We very quickly started seeing each other and going out on dates at least once a week. After about two months Derek officially asked me to “go steady” and of course I said yes. We were dating for just over a year before we got engaged, and during that time we went on so many adventures, spontaneous (and sometimes blindfolded) dates, dinner nights, long walks, and so many other things to get to know each other better, and grow deeper in love with each other. Derek has gotten to know Abby’s family farm (which of course involves driving red tractors). Abby has gotten to know about remodeling the cabin (which almost always involves a trip to Ron’s for a good deal on something).

Our favorite adventure that we went on would have to be our Colorado road trip. We stayed in a truck bed roof top tent, and got to see and visit so many different landmarks. We also learned that it’s not fun to stay in a roof top tent when wind gusts are around 40mph! Derek has shown Abby around Fargo a couple of times, but the best time was when we went to the Dan + Shay concert at the Red River Valley Fair. Abby has also gotten to show Derek around New UIm many times, but the number one spot to visit is always Schmidt’s Meat Market to get jerky, meat sticks, or anything else that might be on sale and smells delicious!

Through all of this we’ve grown stronger in our relationship with each other, along with our relationship with God. We’ve gotten to watch how God moves in each other’s lives and how he moves in our relationship. We can’t wait to see how he will continue to work and move as we start to build our family together!
