Our Wedding

We first met in 2013 at church, not knowing that a simple friendship would turn into something so special. Over the next few years, we grew closer, even as life took us in different directions. At one point, one of us was dating someone else (who happened to be a friend of Abby’s), but even when that chapter ended, our friendship remained. A church project brought us back together, and somewhere along the way, our bond deepened. When Abby invited me to be her date to her matric farewell, it felt like an important moment—one that we’d look back on for years to come. It was a night filled with laughter, memories, and something unspoken between us. But like all good stories, ours had a few bumps along the way. Misunderstandings led to a brief time apart, and for a while, we lost touch. Then, one day, Abby reached out, sharing the photos from that night. Seeing her again just felt right, like everything had fallen back into place. Since then, we’ve been inseparable. Our story isn’t perfect, but it’s ours—filled with friendship, love, and plenty of laughter. Now, we’re so excited to take the next step and start this new chapter together.

We've been as thick as thieves for as long as I can remember, always having each other’s backs no matter what. He’s gotten me into trouble just as many times as he’s gotten me out of it, but one thing is for sure—there’s never been a dull moment with him around.

Beyond the mischief and laughter, Sheldon is one of the most loyal and dependable people I know. He’s been by my side through every stage of life, and there’s no one else I’d rather have standing next to me on our big day. I have no doubt he’ll bring his signature humor, a few great stories (some of which may or may not be slightly exaggerated), and a whole lot of heart to the wedding.

From colored hair and matching tattoos to One Direction singalongs and late-night heart-to-hearts, she’s been my partner in crime through it all. We’ve spent countless hours dreaming of fairytales, love stories, and moments just like this. Through every laugh and every tear, she’s been my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and the person who always knows exactly what to say.

There was never a question—no one else could stand by my side on this day quite like she can. Through every moment, old and new, I wouldn’t want to do this without her.
