Our Wedding

Layne grew up in Oklahoma, and Abigail grew up in Michigan, but God had a plan to bring us to each other after our own separate adventures. Layne had just moved to Michigan from Boston, and Abigail had recently returned from San Jose, California. In a beautiful twist of fate, we both ended up in Michigan at the same time, and that's when our paths crossed on Hinge in the summer of 2023.   Our connection sparked over a combination of shared values and passions—our love for God, a deep appreciation for sports, and a mutual weakness for sweet treats! Whether we’re getting competitive on the field or sharing our favorite desserts, we’re always finding new ways to enjoy life together.   You can bet that on any given day, you’ll find us doing some sort of physical activity. From playing slow-pitch softball, flag football, golf, basketball, and even taking tennis lessons, we love to stay active and have fun. Even during the colder months, we keep the competitive spirit alive with bowling and pickleball. And when we’re not competing athletically, you can find us battling it out over a game of Uno (or any other game that gets our competitive juices flowing!). There’s never a dull moment when we’re together.   Both of us now work at the University of Michigan, where Layne has the privilege of working directly with student-athletes as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Abigail loves to support the athletes as well, cheering them on in their journey, though Layne is the one doing the heavy lifting in helping them reach their goals.   One of the greatest joys in our relationship has been welcoming Cowboy into our lives. Our dog has brought us even closer in a way we never expected, and we love the way he keeps us active and always adds a bit of fun and laughter to our days.
