We met on Hinge, the app designed to be deleted. From the moment we matched, we couldn't stop talking—or FaceTiming—for an entire month. Our screen time stats skyrocketed, but who needs sleep when you’re falling in love?

Our first date felt like a rom-com: nonstop laughter, endless chatter, and some wildly entertaining karaoke (while this may not come as a shock to some, Liam absolutely nailed "Mr. Brightside"). By the end of that weekend, we went from sort-of strangers on an app to full-on boyfriend and girlfriend. What can we say? When you know, you know.

From there, life became a whirlwind. We navigated a deployment apart, broken up with an impromptu, 96-hour meet-up in London. We met each other’s families—Liam’s massive, Notre Dame-obsessed crew and Abby’s close-knit, teacher-filled family (think lots of grading papers and football debates). Abby even learned to cheer for the Irish—occasionally.

Next, we tackled the ultimate relationship test: remodeling an entire house. Walls were painted, "civil disagreements" were had, and Abby became suspiciously good at wielding a power drill. One of Liam's greatest and worst qualities? He never says no to a project! Along the way, we raised our Labradoodle, Winnie, who has as much energy as Liam's karaoke sessions and none of the singing talent.

Fast forward to Acadia National Park, where Liam proposed in a quiet and secluded place (the exact words Liam repeated over and over and over again leading up to the proposal) with the help of friends John and Celia. They were surrounded by breathtaking views and maybe a few nosy hikers. Spoiler alert: Abby said yes.
