Adam and Ella met in Berkeley in the spring of 2019, mere weeks before Ella was set to graduate and move back to San Pedro. Fate, and Tinder, brought the pair together for a first date, where they talked for several hours at a cafe. That night they were already planning when they could meet again.

Their second date lasted over 10 hours. The couple chatted, watched movies, went to dinner, and toured campus. Ella's poor roommates, deep in final's study week, were quite surprised when the pair came back late to chat even more on the balcony.

Though Ella was set to move back to San Pedro, and soon after to Michigan, the pair was sure that they had to find a way to explore their relationship. Adam made the brave leap to move all the way to Michigan. The couple grew stronger together and deeper in love through a pandemic, Ella's graduate studies, and Adam's career exploration.

On July 6th, 2021, Adam proposed to Ella over two cartons of ice cream and a new episode of The Bachelorette. The pair have been blissfully enjoying their engagement, and are excited to marry each other on September 7, 2024.
