We understand that people will be joining us from all around the world. The wedding venue is located in Palos Verdes, California, but most people will staying in San Pedro, California. Below is an abundance of information in order to help plan your travels.
If you are flying in from afar, you will most likely want to fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The drive from LAX to San Pedro is between 30 to 60 minutes. You can take a Lyft/Uber or a taxi from LAX. Lyft and Uber drivers sometimes reject these rides, because San Pedro is at the far edge of Los Angeles. If you reach out, we may also be able to coordinate rides for arriving parties.
We do not recommend taking public transportation. There are limited local stops in San Pedro, and you will be likely to have to walk close to a mile (over a km) in order to get from your transportation station, to your accommodations. Taking public transport would take over 2 hours.
Long Beach Airport is an award winning small airport that we highly recommend for anybody flying from airports that connect to Long Beach. Long Beach Airport provides a much smoother and quicker travel experience than LAX. Whereas LAX is plagued with intense traffic, long security waits, and large distances to the gate, Long Beach never has traffic and rarely requires more than 15 minutes to check a bag, get through security, and get to your gate.
Long Beach Airport is a 20 - 40 minute drive from San Pedro. It is easy to take a taxi or Lyft/Uber to get into San Pedro. Rideshare drivers are also more likely to take the ride due to the towns close coastal proximities. We would also be able to coordinate rides for parties arriving at Long Beach Airport.
We still don't recommend that you take public transportation from Long Beach airport to reach San Pedro. The trip is over an hour and a half, and will include a fair amount of walking.
While the venue itself is located in Palos Verdes which neighbors San Pedro, we mainly recommend lodging in San Pedro. San Pedro provides a wider variety of housing options, and these options are likely to be less expensive than most in Palos Verdes.
Though we have not reserved a room block, we recommend staying at this location. We will provide a shuttle between this hotel and the venue.
This hotel is located along the Cabrillo Marina, the San Pedro alcove of the Los Angeles Harbor. The hotel is within a mile of Cabrillo beach, the primary sandy beach in San Pedro.
While we don't have a block of rooms reserved at the Crowne Plaza, this is another great hotel option. This location is in the downtown area of San Pedro and is a five minute walk from the waterfront at the Los Angeles Harbor. Also within walking distance of the Battleship USS Iowa Museum, Los Angeles Maritime Museum, and the San Pedro Fish Market.
We will not be providing a shuttle to this hotel, but this hotel is located 5 minutes away by car. Lyfts and Ubers from the venue will be very expensive (upwards of $150), due to its remote location at the tip of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Lyfts from the DoubleTree to the Crowne Plaza should be more affordable.
Terranea is a luxury resort, located on the cliffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. This hotel is very expensive, but is the option closest to the venue (less than 5 minutes by car). While transportation between Terranea and the venue will not be provided, Terranea appears to provide a complimentary shuttle for guests to and from any location within 5 miles of the resort (which will include the venue).
You can also opt to stay in a residential space using Air BNB or VRBO. We recommend that you look for housing located either in San Pedro or in Palos Verdes. There are likely to be limited option in Palos Verdes due to strict local ordinances. If staying in San Pedro, we recommend staying closer to the coast. Locations that are further north than 1st street in San Pedro will be pretty far from the venue (over 20 minutes drive).
Please reach out if you are unsure about the information or location of any online listings. We would be happy to provide guidance as to whether it is a good fit.
There is a parking lot at the venue for attendants who would like to drive themselves.
Shuttle transportation to and from the event will also be provided from the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in San Pedro starting at 3 PM with the last shuttle leaving around 4:30 PM to make it to the venue at 5 PM. The shuttle is available on a first-come first-served basis, so we encourage you to be ready early! Anybody is welcome to meet at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel to take the transportation, regardless of whether they are staying at the Double Tree. Shuttles running back to the Double Tree will begin at 9 PM.
Ride-shares from the venue will be very expensive (over $150), due to the isolated location at the edge of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. We recommend you plan to carpool with other guests or use the shuttle transportation.
For those who decide to stay at Terranea, there is a complimentary hotel shuttle that should be able to drop you off and pick you up from the venue, located 1 mile away from the resort.
