Adele met Andrew in Elko, Nevada on May 22nd 2020 at a brunch with mutual friends, who introduced them. Adele brought the bacon and Andrew brought the orange juice. They couldn't keep their eyes off one another from across the apartment, and Adele remembers feeling embarrassed eating french toast in front of him. He eventually got her phone number from a friend and their first date was a hike in the mountains where Adele remembered feeling "physically tested", followed by hammocking near a creek where they got to know one another further and began falling for each other.

Later that summer a few months after dating, Andrew's lease was up for renewal at his apartment, prompting him to ask to move in with his new girlfriend...to which she was surprised...but she agreed. Hooray!

Over the next three years, they enjoyed numerous trips together across the Western U.S. to Utah, Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon. They share their hobbies of camping, mountain biking, and hunting together.

Andrew and Adele were on their second camping trip of the year in the remote San Rafael Swell in central Utah when they discovered a beautiful campsite on the edge of a canyon. Andrew decided this would be the spot, but hadn't decided exactly when he would propose. The afternoon went by quickly, and Adele wanted to head to bed before the sunset...so that ruled out sunset. Sunrise came at 6am and while Andrew got out to take a picture hoping Adele would come with too, it was still too early for sleepy Adele...no sunrise proposal. Later that morning after they broke camp and finished breakfast, it was time to leave, and time was running out for Andrew at this pristine campsite. Adele was in the truck waiting for Andrew, who was stalling, making sure gear in the bed was secured. He coaxed Adele out of the truck by saying they needed to "police the area" for any forgotten trash one last time. After not looking for any trash, they walked to the edge of the canyon one more time looking out at the landscape before them, and when Adele turned back around Andrew got down on one knee and proposed to which she said yes!
