You can book flights from your city of origin to either Denver International Airport (DIA) or the Eagle-Vail Airport (EGE) to get into Colorado.
Denver International Airport is approximately 2 hours east of Vail and is a large airport with the most amenities for travelers. Eagle-Vail Airport is approximately 30-40 minutes from Vail and is a smaller regional airport that serves commercial commuter aircraft and privately owned planes. Once in either airport, you will need ground transportation to Vail.
Select an airport shuttle service or rent a car for ground transportation to Vail. Although ride shares could be used, they will be very expensive. Shuttle services are the easiest way to get into Vail, however some guests might prefer to rent a car and drive. The drive is very beautiful, however keep in mind the weather in January can be tricky, you will need AWD for traction laws, and hotels charge for parking. The average cost between $40-$80 a day for overnight parking.
Once in Vail, the town has a complementary in-town bus service that can take you almost everywhere you need. Vail is very used to out-of-town travelers and local staff are friendly and helpful.
We are getting married during peak ski season in Vail and highly recommend getting your accommodations booked as early as possible for the best availability and rates.
Vail is separated into two villages Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Both has a complementary in-town bus service throughout the town.
