Why do I keep seeing AloHa? Is this a Hawaiian Themed Wedding?

The first 2 letters of our first names are 80% of ALoHA. 2 other 5 letter words are HaLal and AlpHA, but ALoHA won the vote for most floral friendly. 🌺🏵️🌸 Side Note: Hannah LOVES Hawaii and has been there several times with her close friends.

What should I wear to the wedding?

Cocktail attire and/or classy Hawaiian.

What is Cocktail Attire?

Alan believes there is no such thing as being over dressed. According to him, a tuxedo is perfectly fine for a Sunday Afternoon Cookout at the neighbors' house. He also understands that not everyone has a bow tie collection allowing for a different bow tie for every day of the month. Alan's dad has retired from wearing ties, so black-tie formal seemed a bit excessive. here's the scoop! Guys, Tuxedos are not needed, but a suit would be nice. Ladies, wear that outfit that makes you feel like a star. When in doubt, may google by your guide.

what is classy hawaiian?

Slacks and a nice Hawaiian shirt is great! Please refrain for coconuts and grass skirts. 😊 Ladies, I'm not sure what to suggest? Is there such a thing as a Ladies tuxedo?

Can I bring a date?

Please reference your invite for any +1 but also reach out to us with any questions.

Can I bring my children?

As much as we would love all of your children to be there with us to enhance our celebration, each child still counts as a person and we have a firm guest capacity. There are a few select children attending who are godchildren, in the wedding ceremony, or nieces and nephews.

Where should I park?

Come early for the best spots! The venue will open at 4:30 PM. There will be additional street parking on Fair Oaks Avenue.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The wedding and reception will be indoors.

What type of venue is the War Memorial Building

Why this venue is important to us: We love South Pasadena! Alan has lived in and around South Pasadena for several decades and Hannah has grown so fond of the area. The War Memorial building is beautiful, with wood floors great for dancing, and also an awesome place to hold our Veterans Day wedding. We think this is the perfect tribute to have on a day where we would normally be celebrating Hannah's dad, who was a Vietnam Veteran, as well as paying tribute to all those who have served. Also, this is the location where Alan popped the question! "Dedication Date : 1921 The two-acre War Memorial Park located on Fair Oaks Avenue provides a site for the two-story 12,000 square feet War Memorial building. The War Memorial building was built in 1921 and is identified as a city cultural heritage landmark. The building was built on the former Oak Lawn Park with funding from city bonds and donations from the American Legion. The upper floor of the building includes a kitchen and a large multi-purpose room for dancing, meetings, banquets and other activities for groups up to 200 people. The lower consists of smaller rooms, storage and restroom facilities. In 1921, Marshal Ferdinand Foch laid the cornerstone of the building. In 1923, General John J. Pershing planted a redwood tree on the grounds. The building is #2 on South Pasadena's Register of Cultural Heritage Landmarks. North of the building, grounds are dedicated for a landscaped memorial garden."

Is it ok to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Will there be dancing?
