The first important thing you will need to do if you are planning on joining us is to make sure your passport is fully up to date. This means that your passport needs to be good through six months after your departure from Guatemala. If it is not up to date, or if you don't have a passport at all, you will need to apply for a passport or apply for renewal as soon as possible. Sometimes the process can take a while, so you should look into it and get started soon.Next, you should look into travel options. There is only one airport, La Aurora in Guatemala City, which is where you will fly into. Tickets could range from $300 to $750 depending on where you are coming from and what itinerary you choose. We have found that the best time to buy tickets is about three months out, as this is when they are at their cheapest. When looking at flights, we like to use Google Flights to compare different airlines.Once you get to Guatemala, we would suggest that you stay in a hotel or Airbnb in Antigua, which is the town that our wedding will be held in. Antigua is about an hour or two away from the airport where you will arrive. Our wedding will be held in Antigua, where you will stay, meaning the only transportation you will need is to and from the airport. We can help arrange these rides. As mentioned above, Antigua is a very touristy town with lots to do! Antigua is very walkable, and we will provide lots of recommendations for what to do while you are there.

The Artisans' Market is where you can find all kinds of unique souvenirs at very good pricesThere are various ruins around Antigua that you can admire from the outside or pay a small fee to go in, some favorites are Santa Clara and CapuchinasThe arch is a must-see while in Antigua, and is a popular photo spot among touristsThe chocolate factory allows you to learn about the history of chocolate and how it is made, and even make your own if you would likeCasa Santa Domingo is a hotel which has several museums which you can browse through for freeCerro de la Cruz is a hill that you can walk or take a ride up to see a great view of Antigua

Outside of Antigua

Guatemala City (where the airport is) has lots of things to do, including a zoo and lots of museums and mallsLake Atitlan is a beautiful lake surrounded by volcanoes that is two to three hours outside of AntiguaThere are many volcano hikes/tours that you can take to see more of the country
