TRIPLE WORD SCORE — We both swiped right and had our first date at a local brewery. I held on to an early lead with "TRAPEZE". Not to be outdone, Albert claimed victory on his last turn with "POTTY" for a triple word score. We haven't played Scrabble since.

SAY “HI!” HONEY — A first trip to New Orleans where traditions were made. A giant plate of cheesy grits from Elizabeth's, frozen Irish Coffees at the Erin Rose, a turn around The Carousel Bar, a Sazerac for him and a Ramos Gin Fizz for her at The Roosevelt, several Second Line sightings (foreshadowing), and a magical bike ride home through the French Quarter.

LAISSEZ LES BONS TEMPS ROULER — We celebrated moving in together with a Mardi Gras housewarming party, a tradition we've continued to share with friends and family ever since.

WE’RE JUST LOOKING — We got our first apartment together, then went to "just look" at some potential furry friends. We promptly fell in love with a sweet, small tabby with a stubby tail, brought her home and named her Fig.

GOD BLESS OUR MORTGAGED HOME — We found a house with a red door, a witch hat roof, and a huge garden, all just minutes away from dear friends and favorite businesses. Little did we know that we'd move into this gem just in time…

AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR — We found some early pandemic joy in the form of a rambunctious, 4-month old scaredy cat named Ike. He was meant to be Albert's cat, but Ike loves his older sister who loves Amelia so...that backfired.

THERE’S NO “I” IN MARRY — After a painstakingly planned day of word puzzles that took them to favorite spots around Seattle, Albert got down on one knee next to the same table in the same brewery wearing the same sweater he wore on their very first date exactly five years ago to the day. Needless to say Amelia said, "YES!!"
