Bellagio is a small jewel located on the promontory that separates the two southern branches of Lake Como, those culminating in the cities of Como and Lecco.

It is one of the most glamorous and romantic destinations in Lombardy. In fact, the well-known “Pearl of Lake Como” is home to a colorful historic center, beautiful gardens (parks of Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi), charming neighborhoods (such as Pescallo or San Giovanni), and much more.

Its central location makes Bellagio perfect for visiting beautiful surrounding towns such as Varenna, Tremezzina or Menaggio… where you can easily arrive by boat!

Varenna is a picturesque and traditional village, located on the eastern shore of Lake Como, Italy. An essential stop for anyone wishing to visit one of the most typical and peaceful towns of the lake.

This small village, where you can still breathe in the traditions of yesteryear (above all, fishing), is home to elegant villas with botanical gardens (such as Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi) and beautiful walks between history and nature (Castello di Vezio and Sentiero del Viandante).

Como

Located on the Italian-Swiss border, the city of Como overlooks the southwest end of its lake and is surrounded by green ridge hills, resulting in unparalleled, natural scenery. You can visit beautiful squares with Romanesque or Gothic style churches, visit the city’s historic buildings (such as Villa Olmo or Volta museum) or stroll along the romantic Passeggiata Lino Gelpi on the lakeside.

Want to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Como? Visit Brunate, a town that overlooks Como from the top of a hill 715 meters high. The Como-Brunate funicular – which runs from Piazza Alcide de Gasperi, very close to the Como Lago train station – will take you to Brunate in a few minutes (see timetables and fares).

Monza

Picture of Monza

Located between Como and Milano, Monza is a wonderful city best known for its Grand Prix motor racing circuit, the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

Walk through its historical city center, featuring Monza’s gorgeous Romanesque-Gothic Duomo dating to about the year 600. The museum inside is wonderful, and houses the city’s most famous treasure: the Iron Crown, allegedly made with one of the nails from the crucifixion.

You also can’t miss the main city’s landmarks, called the Arengario (a historic structure built in the 14th century and was used as the town hall) and the gardens of Villa Reale, a summer palace built in the park in the 18th century by the Royal Hapsburg family of Austria.

Milano

Milano is Italy's fashion, architecture, and design capital and should be on every traveler’s must-see list.

There’s the iconic Duomo di Milano, the world's largest—and perhaps most stunning—Gothic cathedral; the exquisite mosaics and glass vaults of the Scala Opera House and Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II; the impressive museums like Pinacoteca di Brera and the contemporary MAXXI. And of course, plenty of boutiques to check out if you’re looking to fill an extra suitcase (head to Corso Venezia, Corso Buenos Aires, and Via Montenapoleone for the city’s best shopping). You also cannot skip exploring the Sforzesco Castle and the Navigli area, characterised by canals and full of small restaurants perfect for Aperitivo.

Sirmione is located at the southern end of Lake Garda, in an area that consists of a long peninsula surrounded by lake water and with historical locations situated on the edges of the morainic hills.

Sirmione is famous for the unique charm of its old town centre, with its narrow and irregular alleys, for the Thermal Baths of Catullus, for the churches "Santa Maria Maggiore" and "San Pietro" in Mavino, for the ruin of the Roman Villa of the poet Catullus, known also as "Grotta di Catullo".

A further important building is the "Castello Scagliero" in Sirmione with its typical swallowtail battlement, which was built as a protection for the low Lake Garda and for the fleets in the harbour.

Isole Borromeo
