We met at Wagner College, where we were both coaching lacrosse—Alex with the women’s team and David with the men’s. It didn’t take long for us to realize we had more in common than just lacrosse. Just as our relationship was starting to bloom, the world changed. When COVID-19 hit, everything was put on pause, and so were we. Alex headed back to Long Island, and David went home to New Jersey. Though the distance was tough, especially after we had just started something real, it made us realize how much we missed each other. We knew we had something worth holding on to, so we made it work, even from miles apart.
Over the years, we navigated long distance as David coached at Vassar and Williams College, while Alex stayed on Long Island, coaching at her old high school and teaching fourth grade at William Floyd. This fall, David took a job at St. John’s University to be closer to Alex and start building our life together.
This summer, we got engaged during an unforgettable trip to Spain, and now we’re excited to celebrate our big day with all of you. Family is incredibly important to us, and we can’t wait to bring everyone together to mark this next chapter. Thanks for being part of our journey—we’re so excited to share this moment with everyone we love!
