Airbnb
If you’re traveling with family or a group, Airbnb and Vrbo offer plenty of great options in Solvang, Buellton, and the surrounding Santa Ynez Valley. Homes range from cozy cottages to larger properties perfect for groups. This can be a comfortable and cost-effective alternative to traditional hotels, especially for longer stays or shared accommodations.

Directions from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Typical Drive Time: 2.5–3 hours
Rent a Car: Follow airport signs to the Rental Car Shuttle. All major companies operate at LAX.
Driving Directions to Solvang/Buellton:
Take US-101 North toward Ventura/Santa Barbara.
Continue on the 101 through Santa Barbara and toward the valley.
For Buellton: exit at Avenue of the Flags.
For Solvang: exit CA-246 East from the 101 and drive about 3 miles into town.
LAX has the most flight options but the longest drive.
Rideshare from LAX to the valley are possible but very expensive.
Directions from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR)
Typical Drive Time: 2–2.5 hours
Rent a Car: Rental counters are just across from the terminal.
Driving Directions to Solvang/Buellton:
Take I-5 North from Burbank.
Merge onto US-101 North toward Ventura/Santa Barbara.
Continue on the 101 until you reach the valley.
For Buellton: exit Avenue of the Flags.
For Solvang: exit CA-246 East.
BUR is small, easy to navigate, and a great option for Southwest and Alaska flyers.
Directions from Santa Barbara Airport (SBA)
Typical Drive Time: 35–45 minutes
Rent a Car: Convenient rental pickup right next to baggage claim.
Driving Directions to Solvang/Buellton:
Take US-101 North out of Santa Barbara.
Stay on the 101 as it curves inland.
For Buellton: exit Avenue of the Flags.
For Solvang: exit CA-246 East.
SBA is the closest and easiest airport — a great option if you prefer not to travel through Los Angeles.
You will most likely arrive via a connecting flight, though there are a few nonstop routes (including Denver).
Rideshare to Solvang/Buellton are usually available, but prices vary.
