The closest airport to Modena is Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi Airport BLQ) and from there it's about a 40min drive to the area where everyone will be staying.

For guests flying from Nashville, British Airways offers a convenient direct flight to London Heathrow and will have a connection to Bologna. However, another option is the Milan airport (about 3.5hr drive from Modena or about 1.5/2hr train ride).

As we get closer to time and airlines start releasing flights we will keep this updated for the most convenient routes. Below is the link to a website that we recommend using when looking at flights.

Renting a car in Italy is relatively cheap with a full week costing around $300 (between $20-$50 per day depending on the model you choose + subjective insurance). We recommend all guests rent a car to be able to get around our region of Italy. It's recommended to rent a car at the Bologna airport because renting agencies are hard to find elsewhere. - However, it is possible to book a taxi ahead of time and use public transportation (busses around Modena can be hard to navigate but the Modena train station has access to any destination that you might want before/after the wedding)

If you are NOT comfortable with manual transmission make sure you find a vehicle that has AUTOMATIC!

Additionally the driver will need to get an international driving permit before leaving the US. We recommend going to AAA it's $20 and they will release it to you right away!
