The closest airport to Modena is Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi Airport BLQ) and from there it's about a 40min drive to the area where everyone will be staying.

For guests flying from Nashville, British Airways offers a convenient direct flight to London Heathrow and will have a connection to Bologna. However, another option is the Milan airport (about 3.5hr drive from Modena or about 1.5/2hr train ride).

Renting a car in Italy is relatively cheap with a full week costing around $300 (between $20-$50 per day depending on the model you choose + subjective insurance). We recommend all guests rent a car to be able to get around Italy. It's recommended to rent a car at the Bologna airport because renting agencies are hard to find elsewhere.

If you are NOT comfortable with manual transmission make sure you find a vehicle that has AUTOMATIC!

Additionally the driver will need to get an international driving permit before leaving the US. We recommend going to AAA it's $20 and they will release it to you right away!
