The couple met in September 2018 in Wolfville, the small town where they attended Acadia University. They overlapped there for 3 years but only met after they graduated during Katie's internship year!

They travelled to Newfoundland and got "screeched in", a local tradition where you kiss a cod, take a shot of rum, and recite a Newfoundland saying to officially become an honorary Newfoundlander.

The couple moved in with each other for their last summer together before Katie finished her internship.

Katie left Nova Scotia and Alex came to visit her in Alberta, her home province. They camped and hiked in Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise.

Katie moved to British Columbia to start her first job as a dietitian. A few months later Alex moved across the country so they could be together. This is Alex's first hockey game as a new Canucks fan!

They explored Seattle together

And surfed in Tofino a few weeks before the COVID lockdown.

That summer they travelled locally around Vancouver Island.

And enjoyed the summer by the ocean in BC.

They travelled to Peru with their best friends and completed a 4 day trek to Machu Picchu.

Katie took a trip to Calgary to visit her friends and family in February 2023. Alex flew out and surprised Katie and proposed on family day weekend.

The couple travelled to Vietnam and Thailand to fulfill Katie's dream of seeing elephants.

They went on a cruise of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.

Alex and Katie bought their first home!
