If you are only around for a short time, spend part of the day watching the waves and exploring around the rocks at Peggy's Cove Lighthouse.
This is one of Nova Scotia’s most well-known and most photographed lighthouses in Canada. Located in the quaint fishing village of Peggy’s Cove along the South Shore, Peggy’s Point Lighthouse is just a one hour drive away from our venue.

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Pier 21 (Canada's Immigration Museum) are must-sees for history buffs.
Don’t miss the waterfront boardwalk, which is lined with great shops, restaurants, and cafes overlooking the ocean. For a different view of the harbour, rent jet skis or join a kayaking tour with Harbour Watercraft. You’ll get beautiful views of the city skyline and can paddle out to Georges Island National Historic Site to check out the lighthouse.
If you want to see where the couples love story began, visit the adorable small town of Wolfville in the Annapolis Valley. This is the home of Acadia University where the couple went to school and five minutes from where Alex grew up.
Wolfville has many local shops and cafes to enjoy. If you visit on the weekend make sure to check out the farmers market on Saturday.
Witness the Bay of Fundy's highest rising tides in the world on the waterfront or take a walk along the dykes for spectacular views of rolling farmland, vineyards and the coastline.
Just 10 minutes from Wolfville, cool off by tubing down Gaspereau River. The Gaspereau River winds through a hidden, yet very scenic valley featuring vineyards and farmlands.
The 30 minute, 2.5km ride takes you through both tranquil and more turbulent waters. The inner tubes can be rented for $7 from a local home located near the parking area and you can tube as many times as you like.
You should have two vehicles, one to park at the bottom to bring your tubes and passengers back.
The Annapolis Valley is Nova Scotia's premier wine-producing region, thanks to its fertile soil, unique microclimate and proximity to the Bay of Fundy. The valley is home to many exceptional wineries that produce award-winning wines. Hop on the the double-decker Magic Wine Bus to visit the best wineries in the area, without worrying about transportation!
If you want to tour the vineyards yourself, the couples top winery picks include:
Luckett Vineyards: With panoramic views of the Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy, this is a must visit winery! This winery has a phone booth for a fun photo op and is home to the award-winning Nova 7 sparkling wine.
Gaspereau Vineyards: Known for its stunning location in the Gaspereau Valley, this vineyard offers some of the best wines in Nova Scotia. Their Gaspereau Reserve wines are highly regarded.
L'Acadie Vineyards: This small rustic winery is committed to sustainable organic farming and produces wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Annapolis Valley.
Lightfoot Winery: This winery has breathtaking views of the valley and the Bay of Fundy, and even better wood fire pizza. This winery is a few minutes from Wolfville and could be a great way to end the day exploring our university town.
Benjamin Bridge: Nestled in the picturesque Gaspereau Valley, this winery is considered one of Canada’s most acclaimed sparkling wine houses. You can wander through the vineyards and sip wine down by the river.
For thrill seekers, try rafting on the highest tides in the world! This was the first date Alex took Katie and after this, she was hooked.
The water from the Bay of Fundy gets funneled into the shallow river channels to create a surge of water. After the tidal bore goes by the river, it reverses direction and starts flowing inland at nearly 30km/hr. The huge volume of water forcing its way into the shallow waters creates our rapids ranging from 4-12ft standing waves! Bore Rafting is a unique adventure found only in Nova Scotia.
If you are renting a car and spending a longer time in Nova Scotia, driving the Cabot Trail is a bucket list item. The Cabot Trail is one of the most scenic drives in the world, winding through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You'll enjoy spectacular coastal views, dramatic cliffs, and a variety of hiking trails. Cape Breton is 5+hrs from the venue so you will need to rent a car to get here.
