Our story begins with a workplace romance. We were interning at the same company in Rhode Island during the summer of 2017. All summer we had heard of the “other Northeastern co-op” but since we worked in different engineering departments, we hadn’t met. Finally, about three months in, our bosses held a joint intern meeting and we were able introduce ourselves! As Alex remembers it: "I'll never forget how Lexi bent down to my eye level when we shook hands."

We got to know each other over the next few weeks and then went on our first date: either to the movies (according to Alex) or taking a romantic nature walk (if you ask Lexi) - there's some debate on what counted as the first. It wasn’t long before we officially started dating and it was an even shorter time until Alex met Lexi's parents - just 1 week later!

"My neck hurt because I wasn’t used to looking so high up (looking at you Reese, or at least trying to)." - Alex

Some other highlights during our first 6 months together:

- We took a road trip with visit Lexi's parents in upstate NY and Rachael asked Alex if he'd been given an end date to our relationship

- Lexi took Alex apple picking for the first time

- We both totaled our cars

- We enjoyed many Waterfires together

And of course, we fell in love!

Fast forward to now: we have new cars, we moved to Virginia, we bought a house, and we’re getting married! Guess there was no end date after all...
