Our Wedding

Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;met&nbsp;in&nbsp;2015&nbsp;at&nbsp;our&nbsp;old&nbsp;job&nbsp;called&nbsp;North&nbsp;Shack.&nbsp;We&nbsp;started&nbsp;off&nbsp;as&nbsp;co-workers&nbsp;but&nbsp;without&nbsp;a&nbsp;doubt,&nbsp;became&nbsp;good&nbsp;friends!&nbsp;Our&nbsp;friendship&nbsp;grew&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;we&nbsp;started&nbsp;to&nbsp;spend&nbsp;time&nbsp;together&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;talk&nbsp;everyday.&nbsp;Each&nbsp;time&nbsp;we&nbsp;spent&nbsp;together,&nbsp;we&nbsp;felt&nbsp;happy&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;comfortable-&nbsp;like&nbsp;we&nbsp;knew&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;right&nbsp;place!&nbsp;When&nbsp;my&nbsp;mom&nbsp;had&nbsp;passed&nbsp;away&nbsp;September&nbsp;2016,&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;drove&nbsp;up&nbsp;to&nbsp;my&nbsp;house&nbsp;where&nbsp;we&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;night&nbsp;drive&nbsp;to&nbsp;make&nbsp;me&nbsp;feel&nbsp;nurtured&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;knew&nbsp;he&nbsp;would&nbsp;be&nbsp;one&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;big&nbsp;supporters.&nbsp;This&nbsp;was&nbsp;also&nbsp;the&nbsp;start&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;nightly&nbsp;long&nbsp;drives&nbsp;where&nbsp;we&nbsp;would&nbsp;talk,&nbsp;vent,&nbsp;joke&nbsp;around,&nbsp;play&nbsp;music,&nbsp;etc.&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;also&nbsp;came&nbsp;to&nbsp;my&nbsp;mom's&nbsp;funeral&nbsp;to&nbsp;show&nbsp;his&nbsp;support&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;how&nbsp;much&nbsp;he&nbsp;cares.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;friendship&nbsp;was&nbsp;starting&nbsp;to&nbsp;turn&nbsp;into&nbsp;movie&nbsp;nights&nbsp;at&nbsp;my&nbsp;house&nbsp;with&nbsp;pizza&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;late&nbsp;night&nbsp;sleepovers.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;movie&nbsp;together&nbsp;was&nbsp;The&nbsp;Other&nbsp;Guys.&nbsp;My&nbsp;feelings&nbsp;for&nbsp;him&nbsp;were&nbsp;really&nbsp;starting&nbsp;around&nbsp;this&nbsp;time&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;knew&nbsp;that&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;I&nbsp;would&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;relationship.&nbsp;We&nbsp;even&nbsp;had&nbsp;our&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;at&nbsp;Alibis&nbsp;Pizza&nbsp;Restaurant&nbsp;in&nbsp;Troy&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;our&nbsp;first&nbsp;kiss&nbsp;at&nbsp;my&nbsp;house&nbsp;both&nbsp;in&nbsp;December&nbsp;2016.&nbsp;January&nbsp;7th,&nbsp;2017&nbsp;was&nbsp;when&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;started&nbsp;our&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;have&nbsp;been&nbsp;together&nbsp;for&nbsp;8&nbsp;years&nbsp;since! In&nbsp;June&nbsp;of&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;planned&nbsp;a&nbsp;fun&nbsp;week&nbsp;trip&nbsp;to&nbsp;Michigan's&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;Upper&nbsp;Peninsula.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;trip&nbsp;included&nbsp;staying&nbsp;in&nbsp;Marquette,&nbsp;MI.&nbsp;We&nbsp;enjoyed&nbsp;the&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;natural&nbsp;sights&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Great&nbsp;Lakes,&nbsp;Pictured&nbsp;Rocks,&nbsp;Presque&nbsp;Isle&nbsp;park,&nbsp;Oswald's&nbsp;bear&nbsp;ranch,&nbsp;Dead&nbsp;River&nbsp;Falls,&nbsp;Laughing&nbsp;Whitefish&nbsp;Falls,&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Tahquamenon&nbsp;Falls.&nbsp;Presque&nbsp;Isle&nbsp;Park&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;location&nbsp;that&nbsp;stood&nbsp;out&nbsp;the&nbsp;most!&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;were&nbsp;getting&nbsp;ready&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;a&nbsp;picture&nbsp;when&nbsp;he&nbsp;got&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee&nbsp;to&nbsp;propose&nbsp;to&nbsp;me!!!&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;so&nbsp;excited&nbsp;that&nbsp;I&nbsp;said&nbsp;"Eeep!"&nbsp;But&nbsp;I&nbsp;definitely&nbsp;said&nbsp;yes&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;both&nbsp;so&nbsp;excited!&nbsp;The&nbsp;weather&nbsp;was&nbsp;so&nbsp;beautiful!&nbsp;The&nbsp;sunshine&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Lake&nbsp;Superior&nbsp;did&nbsp;their&nbsp;job&nbsp;making&nbsp;the&nbsp;scenery&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;the&nbsp;magic&nbsp;come&nbsp;to&nbsp;life!&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;have&nbsp;been&nbsp;so&nbsp;excited&nbsp;to&nbsp;plan&nbsp;our&nbsp;magical&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;night! Doug&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;share&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;same&nbsp;interests!&nbsp;Our&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;food&nbsp;is&nbsp;pizza,&nbsp;s'mores,&nbsp;chicken&nbsp;nuggets,&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;steak!&nbsp;Our&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;animals&nbsp;are&nbsp;pandas,&nbsp;penguins,&nbsp;sea&nbsp;otters,&nbsp;seals,&nbsp;kittens,&nbsp;etc.&nbsp;We&nbsp;love&nbsp;to&nbsp;listen&nbsp;to&nbsp;music,&nbsp;relax&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;watch&nbsp;TV/movies.&nbsp;Both&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;shows&nbsp;are&nbsp;New&nbsp;Girl,&nbsp;South&nbsp;Park&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Hell's&nbsp;Kitchen.&nbsp;We&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;baking&nbsp;delicious&nbsp;treats&nbsp;such&nbsp;as&nbsp;s'mores,&nbsp;cookies&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;brownies!&nbsp;We&nbsp;also&nbsp;love&nbsp;to&nbsp;go&nbsp;out&nbsp;to&nbsp;fun&nbsp;places&nbsp;such&nbsp;as&nbsp;the&nbsp;Detroit&nbsp;Zoo,&nbsp;walks&nbsp;around&nbsp;parks,&nbsp;cider&nbsp;mills,&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;our&nbsp;Sundays&nbsp;always&nbsp;include&nbsp;an&nbsp;ice&nbsp;cream&nbsp;trip!&nbsp;However,&nbsp;all&nbsp;couples&nbsp;do&nbsp;share&nbsp;different&nbsp;interests!&nbsp;Doug&nbsp;enjoys&nbsp;listening/watching&nbsp;Formula&nbsp;1&nbsp;racing&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Vikings&nbsp;while&nbsp;I&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;watching&nbsp;my&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;sitcoms&nbsp;such&nbsp;as&nbsp;Friends&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Golden&nbsp;Girls!&nbsp;He&nbsp;enjoys&nbsp;fettucine&nbsp;alfredo&nbsp;while&nbsp;I'd&nbsp;rather&nbsp;have&nbsp;spaghetti&nbsp;marinara.&nbsp;His&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;snack&nbsp;includes&nbsp;peanut&nbsp;butter&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;M&amp;M's&nbsp;while&nbsp;I'm&nbsp;snacking&nbsp;on&nbsp;saltine&nbsp;crackers&nbsp;and&nbsp;chips&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;salsa!&nbsp;He&nbsp;enjoys&nbsp;building&nbsp;Legos&nbsp;while&nbsp;I'm&nbsp;coloring&nbsp;in&nbsp;my&nbsp;adult&nbsp;coloring&nbsp;books&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;taking&nbsp;up&nbsp;the&nbsp;kitchen&nbsp;table&nbsp;with&nbsp;my&nbsp;puzzles&nbsp;😂Although&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;some&nbsp;differences,&nbsp;we&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;every&nbsp;moment&nbsp;together&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;we&nbsp;are&nbsp;looking&nbsp;forward&nbsp;to&nbsp;being&nbsp;married,&nbsp;starting&nbsp;a&nbsp;family&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;spending&nbsp;the&nbsp;rest&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;lives&nbsp;together!&nbsp;We&nbsp;love&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;so&nbsp;much&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;our&nbsp;adorable,&nbsp;loving,&nbsp;goofy,&nbsp;fun,&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;caring&nbsp;relationship!&nbsp;Looking&nbsp;forward&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;forever!&nbsp;💖

Sonesta Select- Auburn Hills

We are having an open bar at the wedding!!! 🍾 Please drink responsibly &amp; plan transportation accordingly! We are excited for our guests to celebrate with us but we also want our guests to be safe before, during &amp; after the wedding! If you are booking a room at the Sonesta Select in Auburn Hills, we have arranged shuttle bus transportation trips for your traveling needs! We have arranged a few shuttle bus trips total! The shuttle buses do fit a total of 24 passengers. It is highly recommended that if you do book a hotel room, you must request an early check-in since they only allow 4PM check-in times so please plan accordingly! If you are not booking a room at the Sonesta Select, you are responsible for your own transportation to the wedding. If you are visiting the open bar at the wedding, you are responsible for finding a DD or schedule pick-up services such as uber or lyft.
