We kindly ask that you either wear a black suit or a black dress. Please respect our dress code request. The theme is black but you can wear colorful shoes/heels or bring a colorful bag.
As for layers we recommend that our guests bring a light shawl, sweater, or even a jacket. Aspen is chilly in the evening during any season and it will most definitely be cooler at the top of the mountain as opposed to the base.
Furthermore, it is important to note that since the ceremony will take place on top of a snowy mountain we therefore recommend flats, wedges, or block heels over stilettos.
LASTLY, YOU MOST LIKELY WILL NEED A JACKET FOR THE CEREMONY CONSIDERING IT IS BEING HELD OUTDOORS ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN.
Do I need a car?
For the most part you do not need a car if you are staying in the town of Aspen and you are not planning on leaving the area. One of the amazing things about Aspen is that everything you need is in walking distance. Additionally, if you do not feel like walking you can Uber everywhere or the town has free public transportation, which will take you anywhere in the Aspen area.
The only caveat I have is that you will have to arrange for transportation from the airport to the hotel. The nice thing is that the Aspen Airport is approximately 10mins from town so you most likely only need a car service or an Uber.
Weather and Altitude
High in the Rocky Mountains, Aspen has its own unique climate. The weather is quite variable, even for an alpine town, and the altitude is a very challenging aspect to adjust to, especially for folks visiting from sea level. Explore these tips to arrive at the wedding prepared and comfortable.
Weather:
Weather in the Rocky Mountains can vary significantly from one hour to the next. The average temperature during the day in April is in the low 50°F, although temperatures are much cooler during the evening. The occasional shower can occur at any time, sometimes turning into thunderstorms, but these do not last long. Please be prepared on your adventures.
Altitude:
The town of Aspen is approximately 8,000 ft. Since it is easy to become dehydrated at high altitudes, we encourage you to drink sufficient water, even a few days before arriving in Colorado. Until you understand how the altitude affects you, go easy on alcoholic beverages.
