What is the flow of the day?
1. Arrive at the Public Gardens in Saint John.
2. Grab a drink! There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments provided.
3. Watch us get married! Hang around, take some photos, have another drink!
4. Head over to Italian by Night (5 minute drive).
5. The reception is Cocktail Style (but don't worry, there will be LOTS of delicious IBN food!). Throughout the night, there will be grazing stations and many circulating hors d'oeuvres, and so on. There will be tables set up throughout the restaurant. Feel free to park yourself at a table, or move around. Drink! Eat! Enjoy!
6. Speeches! (MC will announce timing.)
7. Dance!
8. The night ends when the clock strikes midnight!
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
The ceremony will start at 4:00 pm. Please arrive with sufficient time before this to grab a drink, find a seat, and enjoy the scenery!
Are kids invited?
As much as we love all of the kiddos in our lives, due to tight space constraints (we all know how big the Barry family is - and if you don't, you will), unfortunately we cannot accommodate children. We understand if this affects your ability to join us!
Is there a registry?
Please don't feel like a gift is necessary, your presence is more than enough! If you'd like to give a gift, we'd love contributions to our new house fund.
Is there a group rate for hotel?
Yes! We have blocked off rooms at the Hilton Saint John on Market Square. The group rate code that you will book with is: 90G. The price is $179/night. We can't wait to see everyone there. See Travel page for more details!
Where can I park?
For the Public Gardens, there is ample parking in a lot on Mt. Pleasant Avenue (across from Rockwood park). Italian by Night is Uptown Saint John. Street parking is free Uptown on the weekends - however, this may be hard to come by. There is a large parking lot on Water Street (33 Water Street Parking). This would require a short walk up to Italian by Night (4 minute walk). If you're staying at the Hilton, this is a ten minute walk to Italian by Night, or a very short cab!
What is the attire?
Please wear what you feel comfortable in! Note that most guests will wear formal to semi-formal attire.
What is the plan if it rains?
Depending on the severity of the rain, we will forego the ceremony at the Public Gardens, and the ceremony will take place at Italian by Night. Should this happen, we will send an e-mail and have signage at the ceremony space. (Fingers crossed for a sunny June day!)
What are the grounds like at the Public Gardens?
There is a gravel walking path throughout the Gardens. However, with the ceremony space, you should expect to have to walk on some grass.
What's the bar set up? Is it open? Do I need cash?
We will have the bar open until a certain point (the MC will announce when this is closing). After this, it will be cash bar. You can start a tab, pay card, or cash.
I have dietary restrictions - will there be food that I can eat?
We will have gluten free and vegetarian dishes. Please ask our wedding coordinator, Renee, if it is not clear what's best for you to eat!
Is there someone I can go to if I have questions or issues during the evening?
We have hired an amazing wedding coordinator, Renee Chiasson of Ivory Events. We will point her out, and she can answer any questions you have during the night!
Can I snap pics for my Insta during the ceremony?
When you arrive at the Public Gardens, please feel free to snap photos of the beautiful space. We will have a moment during the ceremony that you can take photos. Otherwise, for the rest of the ceremony, we ask that you refrain from snapping pics, and let our amazing photographers of Tremblett Photography do their thing!
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to space constraints, if someone has not received a specific invitation, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate them. (We wish we could have everyone, trust us!)
Are both spaces accessible?
Yes!
