With breathtaking panoramic views of the coastal mountain range, the Sea to Sky Gondola is definitely our dream venue to say our I-Do's! We both love nature &amp; are big fans of the great outdoors; we have spent a good amount of our adventures (individually and together as a couple) camping and hiking peaks... so we both knew our wedding had to involve nature! Fun Fact: Trina once explored a trail here in 2016 - when she was doing her month-long solo backpacking trip in Canada. She fell in love with the views and knew at the back of her head that it could be THE place to get married in someday. Luckily she met Alex - just the best person to share this with. We are absolutely thrilled to be getting married here at our dream venue in BC! Check out some photos of the venue to get you excited:

So... tell me more about this gondola?

The views from this place are absolutely jaw-dropping and in order to get those views you've got to travel up, up, up! The Sea to Sky Gondola seats 8 per cabin and takes about 10 minutes to travel 885 metres above Howe Sound. It has a flat entrance and exit, and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Once at the top, there are plenty of decks, paths, and viewpoints to enjoy.Check out the trail map <a href="https://www.seatoskygondola.com/site/assets/files/7879/ssg_2021_summit_area_map_web.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">HERE</a>! Our ceremony will take place at the Spirit Trail Viewing Platform, a short walk from the main lodge either through the woods or over the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. If you choose to take the bridge, know that it's about 100 meters long, and is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

Why Canada?

It's such a special place. Canada has always been high on our travel bucket list. Back in our early days together, we bonded over our shared passions for travel, adventure, and photography—and Canada ticked all those boxes. Trina first visited in 2016 and loved it so much that she went back the very next year. Alex, meanwhile, had long dreamed of exploring Canada, inspired by nature documentaries and the work of Canadian photographers he admired. It's the best "halfway" point for both our families.With Alex’s family in the UK and Trina’s spread across the Philippines, US, and Canada, it’s rare to have everyone in one place. Choosing Canada meant we could bring our loved ones together in the middle. We were torn between the UK and the Philippines, so we thought—why not meet in between? A destination wedding felt right: smaller, more intimate, and shared with our nearest and dearest. And since we’ve always dreamed of a unique celebration, a mountain wedding in Canada felt like the perfect choice.

Stawamus Chief Provincial Park

We say YES to chasing waterfalls! Check out some of the best in the region here, only a short drive from Squamish. This is a great activity for all ages and is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.

Shannon Falls Provincial Park

A popular family park known for its surrounding mountain views, dense forests, grassy areas and freshwater lakes! Hike with kids &amp; do the easy <a href="https://www.exploresquamish.com/trails/four-lakes-trail/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Four Lakes Trail</a>! A rental shop for those looking to explore the lake, with canoes, kayaks and SUP boards available.&nbsp;

Alice Lake Provincial Park

This is such a great place if you have kids (or adults!) who love trains. There are more than 90 heritage railway cars and artifacts here along with the chance to ride on trains – large and small.&nbsp;

Railway Museum of British Columbia

Take a self-guided tour around downtown Squamish to check out the 20+ murals that have been installed in recent years!

Squamish Mural Walk

Open from 10-3 on Saturday, a great place for a last minute shop or snack before you leave town!

We have organised a small &amp; relaxed post-wedding brunch with our families &amp; friends at the Freebird Table &amp; Oyster Bar. There may be a few lawn games involved (get your competitive hats on!) + an epic Spotify playlist too, so you can come in a relaxed casual attire. It is a private event, so yes a password is required to access or re-watch the livestream recording. Please check your emails for the password or message the couple directly in case you can't find it.

What time do I need to be ready?

We are streaming our wedding live on August 21, 2024 (Wednesday). Ceremony starts at 1PM PDT* (Pacific Daylight Timezone). Should I have my camera & mic on during the livestream?

It is a 1-way streaming, so you don't need to prep any camera or microphone during the livestream.

Is there a guestbook?

Yes, virtual guests can leave notes and well-wishes on our virtual wedding card or a Kudoboard our friends &amp; family had created for us (both linked in our streaming site). We highly encourage everyone to drop your well wishes and any advice for us there - we will spend time reading them all after the wedding!

I want to get you a gift, do you have a wedding wish list?

We know most of you will be travelling just to be with us, so your presence at our wedding is the best gift for us. ﻿But if you still want to bless us further, or won't be able to attend our wedding in person but are inclined to give us presents, we have compiled a few different ways to contribute to our ongoing adventure. What should I wear on your wedding day?

The paths around the gondola are flat, but not paved. Friends - break out your favourite flats, boots or a sensible heel, stilettos definitely a no-no! Hopefully it will be a beautiful summer day (bring sunnies/hats in case it gets hot), but it might also get a bit chilly in the evening, so bring something light also to keep you warm (e.g. jacket / shawl). Unfortunately, we can't cover and plan for everybody's accommodation &amp; transportation. But we're striving to make it easier and more convenient for everyone. I'm bringing a car, what are the parking arrangements at the venue?

If you plan to arrive in private vehicles, parking is first come, first served, and is free of charge for our guests. Complimentary parking passes will be provided to you by the staff. You will receive this when you receive your gondola lift tickets at the base. All parking passes will need to be placed on the dash of your vehicles. Vehicles can also stay parked overnight with pick-up before 10AM the following morning.&nbsp;
