Alexa grew up on the south side of Naperville, IL. She first met the Meyer family in 7th grade when Joseph's mother, Sharon Meyer, was her Language Arts teacher by coincidence. Never did she believe that one day Sharon Meyer would become her mother-in-law! She attended Neuqua Valley High School and was a competitive hip hop dancer during that time. She then went on to attend the University of Iowa and obtained her Bachelors of Science in Human Physiology with minors in Business Administration and Chemistry on the Pre-Physician Assistant track. She stayed in Iowa for 4 years and then came back to live with the P's (her parents) for PA school at Midwestern University. She met Joe in her second year of PA school amidst the chaos of her clinical rotations. She is now working as a Physician Assistant in Spine Surgery!

Alexa's Story

Joseph grew up on the north side of Naperville, IL. He attended Naperville North High School. For college, he commuted from Naperville to Northern Illinois University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2020. He then moved out to Bloomington, IL where he pursued different jobs in the computer science industry. Joe moved back to Naperville in summer of 2022 and met Alexa in the fall. He is continuing his career as a Software Architect at Caylent.

Joseph's Story

Joe met Alexa online at the end of September 2022. Their first date was downtown Naperville. They met at the iconic corner in front of Barnes and Noble Bookstore because Joe did not plan what restaurant to go to. They decided to have dinner at Heizman's and then drinks at Peanuts. They chatted up a storm for hours into the night, both leaving the date with butterflies in their stomachs. Just two days later, they went on their second date! Several dates later, Joe asked Alexa to be his girlfriend and she said yes! And the rest is history! Throughout the years together, they have vacationed to Arizona, Florida, California, Colorado, and many other destinations! There have spent time together at numerous family gatherings, weddings, holiday events, craft shows selling scarves, skiing, and time with friends! Joe and Alexa's favorite thing to do together is to go out for a night on the town, but they also appreciate a night in crafting and working on new projects. Alexa and Joe live together on the north side of Naperville, IL with their 6- year-old Australia Sheperd, Loki. They are both so excited to start their lives together as newlyweds! They plan to honeymoon in Hawaii after their wedding and eventually buy a home!

Our Story

Joe and Alexa got engaged in the same spot they had originally met, the Barnes and Noble bookstore downtown Naperville on January 20, 2024. Joe planned to propose just one day before the store closed! What was supposed to be a relaxing Saturday became a moment in time they would never forget. Alexa was in shock as Joe got down on one knee and proposed with a professional photographer waiting! She, of course, said yes! They proceeded to have a photoshoot downtown Naperville in just 10 degree weather! After their photoshoot, they went to have a steak dinner at Sullivan's steakhouse. Although most would think the night was over, there were guests awaiting Alexa and Joe's arrival at the Wunderlich household. Joe had planned a surprise engagement party with the mother of the bride, Michelle. The night was absolutely unforgettable!

I’m Tiffany, the proud sister of the beautiful bride and honored to be her Maid of Honor. While I may not have Alexa's unmatched brilliance, I’m thrilled to watch her and Joseph embark on this incredible journey together in Naperville, Illinois. I’m currently working on my Master of Health Administration (MHA) at the University of Iowa and continuing my work as an administrative fellow at Endeavor Health. While I’m excited about my own career path, nothing brings me more joy than seeing Alexa and Joe find love and build a future together. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and unforgettable memories for the two of them!

Tiffany Wunderlich

Hi! My name is Jacalyn and I am Alexa’s youngest sister. I have loved growing up with Alexa as my role model, and I am so happy she met Joe! Joe is like a big brother to myself and Tiffany and we are extremely happy for them! In regards to schooling, I am a senior at Neuqua Valley and am committed to the University of Iowa to start there in the fall of 2025. I am a PE leader and Senior Advisory at Neuqua, and I have also been playing indoor and beach volleyball since 6th grade. I also work at White House Black Market in Downtown Naperville as a Sales Associate.

Jacalyn Wunderlich

I’m Abbey, Joes sister and Alexas soon to be sister-in-law.  I knew from the start Alexa was here to stay and that we loved her! We spend our time forcing the boys on date nights and bonding over our shared healthcare world stress. I am a nightshift Cardiac PCU RN at Mercy Hospital in Aurora IL. I spend all my free time and energy renovating my Aurora home and caring to my two fur babies Peaches and Pumpkin with my husband Spencer Smithmeyer. 

Abbey Smithmeyer

Hi! I'm Claire, Joe’s younger sister and I'm so excited for Alexa to be my sister. When I first met Alexa I knew immediately that I loved her, she was going to be an amazing addition to our family, and that she and Joe are perfect together. Alexa has been so supportive in my focus on school at NIU as I prepare to take the CPA exams and apply to law school in the near future. In my free time, I love to go camping/hiking, read, and play with my dog, Penny.

Claire Meyer

I’m lucky enough to have met Alexa when we lived just 12 steps apart in the same Iowa college dorm. From football games and dinner dates in college to FaceTime calls and weekend trips after I moved to and from Boston, our friendship has been filled with amazing memories. Having Alexa by my side on my wedding day was so special, and now I can’t wait to stand by hers. When I’m not caught up in wedding excitement, you’ll find me outdoors with my husband and our husky or cheering on our favorite teams.

Autumn Brimeyer

I'm Allison, and I met Alexa back in the 9th grade, brought together by our moms' weekly get togethers watching the Bachelor! Our friendship has continued for over a decade and counting, filled with many more Bachelor nights, sister hang outs, and double date nights with Joe and my husband, Sam. Alexa is like a sister to me - I was lucky enough to have her stand by my side as a bridesmaid, and now I can't wait to be a part of her and Joe's special day! Love you guys! 


Allison Kluber

I'm Kristen, and I met Alexa back when I became best friends with her sister, Tiffany, when we were only 11 years old. By Tiffany and I becoming friends, we also brought together our moms, dads, and sisters (Alexa and Allison). We have become like family over the past 10+ years, and not only did I become friends with Alexa but she also became like a sister to me! I am so honored to be a part of her big day, and I know that she has found her forever best friend in Joe. I am so happy for Alexa and Joe, and can't wait to celebrate their love and friendship!

I'm Sid, and I met Alexa almost a decade ago at our very first job. Going from being coworkers with her, singing to each other across the room with straw microphones, to being one of her best friends has been one of the absolute pleasures of my entire life. And I couldn't be happier that she's found her person. I can't wait to be part of her big day and surround her and Joe with the same love I know she gives to every single friend and family member in her life! A little about me-I am a *huge* nerd of both avian and environmental sciences, and I spend my free time taking pictures, playing video games, and rock climbing!

Hi! I’m Elle. I’ve known Alexa (and Joe) for two years but it feels like a lifetime! When I first met Alexa, I knew this would be a friendship to cherish forever; maybe it was the fact that we are both always down to have a good time, are devoted to our families, our significant others are best friends or that fact that we are both PAs (haha!). In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, spending time with my boyfriend, working out, shopping or truly just relaxing! Alexa and I have known each other since Kindergarten when our Dads coached us together in the Naperville Park District soccer league. We continued playing soccer, taking classes, and making memories outside of school together while in elementary and middle school. Then we went to high school and had a few classes together and remained close friends. I had so much fun visiting her at Iowa a couple times and seeing her when she came home for breaks. I’m so honored to be a part of her big day and have looked forward to this since we were kids!

Lindsey Ishman

Elin is Alexa's 10-year-old cousin and the youngest granddaughter of 8 grandchildren. Elin is in 5th grade and enjoys serving as the vice president of her school's student council, playing clarinet in the band, and going hard on the soccer field with her travel team. She is thoughtful, kind, smart, and loves time with family and friends.

Ava Belle is Joe's goddaughter and an adventurous outgoing first grader who enjoys reading, riding her bike and four wheeler, as well as hanging out with friends and family. She also is an avid fashionista who enjoys make-up, jewelry, and shopping. She also loves her dog Snicker very much.

Ava Szuba

I’m Ethan, Joe’s younger brother. I currently work as a Tech at P&L Motorsports in Lisle and as the family mechanic. Even off the clock, you will likely find me working on cars, considering buying another car, or researching cars and parts. I also like to play video games and watch YouTube videos (potentially also car related). While I may be the iPad kid of the family, I also enjoy fishing, boating, camping, skiing, and airsofting. Growing up with Joe we always shared very similar hobbies and grew to love them together.

Hello! I’m Anthony Stec, a firefighter by day, but always a friend, family man, and proud nerd at heart. It’s an absolute honor to be part of Joe and Alexa's wedding, a day I will remember for the rest of my life.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me nerding out over video games and spending quality time with the amazing people I’m lucky enough to call family and friends. Whether it’s a firehouse chat or a deep dive into geeky conversations, I try to live my life with a balance of heart, humor, and a little bit of nerdy flair.
Joe has always been more than a friend, he’s family, and I couldn’t be more proud to stand by his side as he marries his best friend. Here’s to love, laughter, and the unforgettable memories we’re about to create together.

What's up! I’m Justin Dixon, a Policeman by night and a sleep deprived German shepherd dad by day. I work way too much but when I’m not working I enjoy spending time outdoors, in the gym, and gaming with friends. As Joe will probably tell you my life is constantly changing but his friendship is one of the few things that doesn’t. I have known Joe since the second grade and have seen plenty of highs and lows in his life as he has also seen in mine. Joe found Alexa around a time he was pulling himself out of one of those lower points. Since that time I have never seen Joe a happier man, constantly pushing himself to be better in every aspect of his life. I have not spent the most time around Alexa but I do know she is one the biggest supporters of Joe, pushing him to be the best he can be. Joe you are my brother, I love you, and I can't wait to see you marry the love of your life!

I met Joe through Alexa, whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing since college, where she was close friends with my wife Autumn.
I work as a software engineer, so have connected with Joe over our conversations on tech and coding, and enjoyed getting to know him these last few years.
I grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and then went to college in Boston. After Boston, Autumn and I returned to Iowa City, and are now continuing our journey west and moving to Colorado. Some things I enjoy doing are traveling, hiking, occasionally playing video games, and running with our husky (Wrigley). I am also a big Cubs and Bears fan!

Gavin is Alexa’s cousin. The first boy out of the 8 grandchildren.  Gavin  is a freshman at Naperville North High School. He decided to follow in his cousins Alexa and Tiffany’s footsteps and do hiphop dance at Xtreme Dance Center. When Gavin is not at school or dancing, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family and playing video games. He is kind, funny, intelligent, talented, and an all around great person.

Thomas is Alexa's cousin. Thomas is in 8th grade and loves playing soccer, trying new restaurants, traveling, and watching/reading historical fiction. In his spare time, he plays video games. Thomas is witty and fun-loving, but don't let that fool you because he aspires to be a cadet at the US Military Academy in West Point, NY (but is more immediately looking forward to high school)!

Avery is not only Alexa’s cousin, but also her God Son! He is a 6th grade student at Washington Junior High School. Avery is caring, funny, artistic, and very creative. He enjoys spending time with friends & family, playing video games, watching horror movies, hiphop dancing at Xtreme Dance with his brothers, backyard football, and sketching really pictures.

Kenny is the youngest of Alexa’s cousins. He is a 1st grade student at Naper Elementary School. He is funny, smart, helpful, caring, and he loves a good snuggle session. Kenny loves to do hiphop dance at Xtreme just like his big brothers, playing football and soccer in the backyard, playing video games, reading books, taking care of his dog Rizzo, and having play dates with his friends.
