Q + A

What time does the wedding start?

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! The wedding will begin at 6:00pm. The ceremony will begin at 6:15pm, so please arrive a little early!

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

We love kids, but we’re keeping this celebration adult-focused. We hope you can arrange for a fun night out for the kids while we celebrate!

Will there be food and drinks?

We’ll have appetizers during cocktail hour, followed by dinner and plenty of dancing. Get ready to indulge your taste buds! There will be an open bar so plan your ride home accordingly!

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Margo and Alex are staying at the Estanica Hotel in La Jolla, this hotel is more expensive. If you can afford the hotel we would love for you to stay near us. However, here are some options for you to decide from that we think are good hotels in the area: The Hotel La Jolla (Hilton) https://www.hilton.com/en/book/reservation/rooms/ La Valencia https://www.lavalencia.com/

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

We want everyone to enjoy the celebration! Please let us know your dietary restrictions when you RSVP, and we’ll make sure there are delicious options for you. We are planning on having tacos veggie and meat options!

What’s the best way to get to the Birch Aquarium?

The Birch Aquarium is located at 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla, CA 92037. We recommend carpooling or rideshares to keep the party going because we will have an open bar! There will also be an after party to consider! However, there’s ample parking available if you decide to drive.

Will there be time to explore the aquarium?

Yes! Birch Aquarium will be open for you to explore during designated times throughout the event. During cocktail hour you can grab a drink and look at fish! You'll have the opportunity to visit exhibits and see some of the amazing marine life. However, Penguins will be closed after 7pm so if you want to see them come before the ceremony to see them!

What should I wear to the wedding?

The ceremony will take place outdoors, so we recommend light, breathable attire—flowy dresses and lightweight suits will ensure comfort while mingling during cocktail hour. While there won’t be grass, you’ll be strolling through the aquarium’s stunning grounds, so comfortable footwear is highly encouraged. Our bridal party will be dressed in navy blue, complementing the serene ocean setting. If you’d like to coordinate with our theme, soft beach-inspired tones such as beige, light blues, and sandy hues are perfect. However, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white.

What’s the weather like in July at the aquarium?

San Diego weather in July is usually mild and pleasant. The aquarium overlooks the ocean, so there can be a light breeze in the evening. You may want to bring a light jacket or wrap for later in the evening.

Can I take photos during the Ceremony?

We ask that you kindly put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony as we want you all to be present with us in the moment. We have a professional photographer and videographer capturing the ceremony for us. Other than the ceremony, YES! Please feel free to task as many photos and videos as you like.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you've received a plus one, they'll be specifically addressed within the subject line of the invitation. Otherwise, we ask that only the named people in the invitation are in attendance. Thank you so for understanding.

When should I RSVP by?

To help us with our planning, please RSVP to the events as soon as possible. However, the deadline is May 12th, 2025, if we do not receive your RSVP by this date, we cannot make exceptions and will have to mark you as 'no'. We need to provide the venue with a total guest count in a timely manner, we hope you can understand.
