What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Please plan to arrive no later than 3:15pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30pm and late arrivals will NOT be permitted to join the ceremony after it has begun.

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Yes! Both ceremony and reception will be at the same location. Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors overlooking the ocean (contingency plan for indoor ceremony & cocktail hour on site should weather not cooperate). Dinner and dancing will follow inside the ballroom.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes! Shuttles will pick up guests from designated locations and provide return trips at the end of the evening. A schedule is provided on the Transportation page of this website. Please make sure to check the schedule closer to the date of the wedding, as times are subject to change.

Will there be parking if I choose to drive?

Yes, there is ample free parking on-site at our venue. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Annual Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival will be held on Saturday, October 19th in downtown Newport. Please plan for increased traffic and travel time in order to arrive at the venue for the ceremony beginning promptly at 3:30pm!

Are there local accommodations for guests?

Yes! We have a few different options with room blocks for lodging nearby, as well as some recommendations for other places to stay in the area. Please see the "Accommodations" page of our site for more details.

Can I take pictures or videos at the ceremony?

No. Our ceremony is going to to be an unplugged ceremony. We have hired both a professional photographer and videographer to capture every moment of our day from start to finish. We ask that you please silence all phones, and put away cameras and other electronic devices during the ceremony. We (and the professionals) would hate to have our ceremony ruined by phones in the professional shots or a call disrupting our vows. It's important to us that our guests are fully present with us in the moment. We will be happy to provide photos from the day to anyone that desires a copy after the fact, and will surely be posting some of the photos and videos publicly once we have received them.

But can I take photos and videos at the reception?

Sure! While we will have a professional photographer and videographer to capture every detail of the day, guests are welcome to take photos or videos during the cocktail hour and reception. Feel free to post them to your social media of choice. Please consider tagging us if you do, and using the hashtag #AMillerTimesYes

What should I wear?

Our wedding is formal/back tie optional. For the men, tuxedos aren't required, but are encouraged if you have one (when else will you get the chance to wear it!) If opting for a suit rather than tuxedo, a formal dark suit with tie or bowtie is appropriate. For the ladies, a floor-length gown, tea-length dress, formal jumpsuit, or pantsuit are all appropriate. Block heels and jackets or shawls are recommended, as the ceremony and cocktail hour will be waterfront in mid-October in New England (weather permitting).

What are the wedding colors?

Black, cream, & champagne gold. Our bridal party will be wearing black satin floor-length gowns and our groomsmen will be in black tuxedos. (Guests are more than welcome to also wear black if they choose!)

Are kids welcome?

While we love your kids, our wedding is going to be an ADULTS ONLY event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the little ones at home so you can be fully present to celebrate with us!

Can I bring a date?

We have a set guest list to ensure we stay within venue capacity. We will only be able to accommodate those explicitly listed on your invitation/online RSVP.

What are the meal options?

Tuscan Chicken Roulade, Slow Braised Short Rib (gf), or Vegetable Napoleon (gf/df/vegan). Note that you will be able to provide any important details on dietary restrictions or food allergies when you RSVP. We will be serving a variety of Nothing Bundt Cakes and Woops French Macarons for dessert. The macarons are naturally gluten free, and we will have at least one gluten free option of Bundt cake available.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, drinks are on us all evening. Cheers!

How do I RSVP?

RSVP's are being collected online through this website. Once you receive your official invitation in the mail, you will be able to respond under the "RSVP" page on this site by entering your last name through the portal and following the prompts.

When is the deadline to RSVP?

Please RSVP by Friday, September 6, 2024. Note that if you do not RSVP, we will be unable to accommodate you on the day of the event.

May I take centerpieces/flowers home at the conclusion of the event?

Much of the decor is a combination of items belonging to our venue and rentals that must be returned after our event. We ask that guests *do not* remove any decorations or displays from the venue at the end of the night.

I still have questions! What's the best way to get in touch?
