How They Met
Alexandra and Trevor met through their mutual interest, co-ed soccer. On Monday evenings, the two of them routinely laced up their cleats and took their shots on net to blow off steam, unknowingly they would make the ultimate goal: finding love. Trevor’s brother and sister-in-law organized this soccer team at a sportsplex, where Alexandra, in late 2018, signed herself up as an independent player. The organization assigned Alexandra to their team and after several seasons, Trevor had asked her out on a date.
Dating
The couple began dating in the summer of 2020 during a very uncertain time and came to find that walking dates were the only option to pursue our relationship. With the uncertainty of when sports and soccer will return, they found happiness in exploring the outdoors including walking the entirety of the Caledon Trailway and purchasing a trailer for the family property in Wiarton. In Spring 2021, Alexandra and Trevor purchased their first home together in Barrie, Ontario - a condominium just off the 400 highway! The couple spent their days working (Trevor commuting to Vaughan and Alexandra from home) and their weekends at the trailer, exploring Barrie's nightlife, or staying in and playing card games. There still were not many options while the pandemic was slowly coming to a close. To date, Alexandra and Trevor have still not been on many traditional 'dates' including never being to a movie together. They can vividly recall their first time sitting inside a restaurant to have their 'first official dinner date' - 147 Italian Cuisine, for their anniversary in October 2021, of which began with an exhilarating and never-done-before helicopter ride!
Bundle On The Way
Shortly after moving in the couple began discussing wedding options and the potential of expanding their family. In February 2022, while Trevor was getting his pre-game on for the superbowl, Alexandra announced she was expecting! The couple quickly prepared for selling their condo and buying a house, landing them in Angus, Ontario. With baby on the way, they moved in June 2022 to their current family home and have established themselves amongst their amazing Quigley Street family!
The Proposal
While prepping for game 5 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals where Trevor was very eager to see his Av's take home the cup, Alex was catching up on FaceTime with Sam. Trev kept coming in and out of the bedroom interrupting the call to ask random questions. When Alex finally got off the phone, Trev came into the room and asked her to sit with him. Alex noticed his pocket was bulging and asked "what is that?" but didn't put 2-and-2 together. Trev then proceeded to say something along the lines of "the boys are getting their ring tonight so I wanted you to have yours so you didn't feel left out". Alex had no idea what he was going on about and Trev flashed an engagement ring and Alex remained speechless for probably the longest she has ever been quiet! Technically Trevor never really 'popped the question' but Alex nodded yes, and it was official! When Alex finally 'came to', she asked Trevor many, many questions, trying to piece it altogether. Trev explained he had thought about it on a Tuesday, bought the ring on a Thursday, and proposed on the Friday - a very straightforward and simple plan as he would like to call it. Shortly after, Trevor's cousin Jerry arrived to have a bbq and watch the hockey game... a very untraditional engagement celebration, but a story to tell nonetheless.
Baby Caleb's Arrival
Their family grew by one on October 5, 2022 when they welcomed Caleb Michael Kurth. The first year as parents have been a trialing time, only bringing them closer to one another.
Wedding Bells
When Caleb was a month old, the three of them took a visit to Rustic Silo Barn and decided it was their perfect wedding venue! They cannot wait to exchange their vows in front of their friends and family on September 21, 2024; and are looking forward to celebrating with you!
